You should watch some of the U20 games if you want depressing.

They've all been through the same elite programme.

A lot of this starts way before these guys get to the professional game. (Like picking tighthead props in GPS 1sts who can't scrum, but are big and can pass well, but I digress)

We were rattled by the English approach for at least the first 25 minutes. We seemed to mistake not being intimidated by it, to getting sucked in to it. Whilst I disagreed with the decision, I thought that Moore's action in getting that early penalty reversed but just dumb from an experienced player and unforgivable from the captain.

We made it easy for the flat-line, rushing defence by simply running at them until they forced a mistake. Our response should have included a thoughtful kicking game, but just about every kick was a drop-punt, which lobbed down the middle of the field and was returned without problem. Long, spiral punts to the corners to make those rushing defenders run back and set a lineout would seem to have made some sense and even mayb some well-paced grubbers along the damp, slippery grass.

Just too many handling errors, but forced by good defence and largely making it relatively simple for the good defence.

I wouldn't be expecting England to change much for next week, so we need to come with something else in the kit bag or it will be 0-3.

The only bright thing is that the ABs won't play that style of rugby against us.

So exactly what I stated. Finally make the right tactical decision but failed to execute correctly and failed to communicate it to the rest of team - or anyone in the team.

I was just answering the question about where Foley's was. :D

Hey, sorry to be a party pooper but tonight's loss was due to one aspect of our game..failing to keep the ball. Schoolboy shit. Fardy gets worst on field for that. But it wasn't just him, even izzy dropped a couple. We have the best attack system and an immaculate defensive set up. But if we can't hold the ball, it all goes to shit.

I feel sorry for Foley, was it he who came up with the game plan? or was he just executing it...

I bet Eddie rotates half his team next week, just for the lolz.
Doubt it.

RWC Seeding happens within a year, if England continue on this sort of trajectory, they'll not have much ability to pick up points elsewhere, particularly given ~6 of their 9 tests between July and May are at home. These ones are important to stay high, albeit rotating in a couple of players would be a reasonable idea.

Tomua or Lilo needs to start at 10 next week.

Nice idea, but To'omua has been injured for ages, no game time, Leali'ifano has been pretty lacklustre. The cupboard is a not just bare, it's out in the council cleanup with the local stray mutt using it for his latrine. Foley is way off his best (viz Eng v Aus RWC last year) and looks lost without a foil like Beale. Neither of those two above create much either.
I concede Foley's form is not good, I debate that either of those two are the answer. It's a problem.

Many keep waxing on about how we miss Beale. We miss a no.10 who can steer our ship, and Foley is not it, hasn't been for a long time. We have a backline with frightening potential, and 70% possession in the two games. Join the dots. And surely beating the soapdodgers at home was one of Cheika's KPI's. He's hung his hat on Foley. And during his interview, not a mention of an apology to all those who paid hard earned for tickets to the two games. (Why should they bother next time?). Perhaps next weeks game should be free for supporters as a gesture, the money deducted from their match payments. I can't even watch the Wallaby sponsored adds without cringing (How do sponsors feel?).

They need to come out and acknowledge that they are only the forth team to lose to England at home. They need to wear that millstone, and make some gesture of apology to those teams that have toiled in the past to uphold that great record at home against the poms.

I'm angry. Why don't the Wallabies seem to be?

You need to watch the actual interview. Chieka did actually apologise and said "We have to say sorry to our fans. It just wasn't good enough for the second week in a row".

Try and look a bit deeper than blaming Phipps and Foley. The team failed. abysmally, with enough possession to win two games. The question is over core skills balance over the squad, and tactics. Blaming individuals, who actually played very well within the parameters they were given is pretty shallow.

Can't judge Lilo's ability to control a g
Not sure To'omua is fit enough after injury. And Lilo has had 2 games with a decent amount of game time with little effect - plus poor super xv form.

As bad as Foley was tonight, We dont really have any other options. Lilo will be a big call by Cheika.

Can't judge Lilo's ability to control a game at 10 by his limited opportunities at 12 over the last two weeks. Kerevi is killing it at 12, 10 is the problem - series is gone so we have to roll the dice.

Fardy also did a lot of good things in that match.. was exceptional in the lineout.....

I'm pretty sure the whole team sucked and if we start getting rid of players that everyone has a beef with in this thread we'll be left with nobody.
Same result and the ARU would save the match payments which they could use for the grass roots.

No but you can judge it from the limp attack of the Brumbies.

Immense defensive effort and astute kicking for territory from England (as much as it begrudges me to acknowledge). Struggling to find positives from that game for the Wallabies.

Hooper the pick of the forwards. I've never been high on Carter but he proved me wrong; he cleaned out industriously and even carried over the advantage line a couple of times. And no boneheaded penalties.

The halves were atrocious. The game reinforced how flustered Foley gets without, and reliant he is on a second playmaker, especially for kick exits. Genia and Giteau/Beale sorely missed.

Folau was marked up well so didn't have the same impact; Kerevi was the most effective of the backs imo.

This was tough to watch on acccount of the constant (and predictable) unforced errors which snuffed out so many of our attacking opportunities. Cheika will be livid.

Beating the Wallabies is as simple as watching a replay of the Highlanders. Really is that simple. Utterly pathetic. Out and out Waratahs fan and i'd sack Foley and Phipps on that performance.
