Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

if they were in a training bubble why’d they travel to Byron Bay for recreation then
They ARE in a training bubble. BUT those reports only came out yesterday as well due to the 'outbreak' in Brisbane. So they might have already been in Byron when it came out.

This is the sort of shite we all roll our eyes with recalcitrant mungo players.

Let's just have a Wallabies vs Australia A match instead.

Wallabies v Argentina A seems to be the only other solution. Or cancellation/forfeit. Really can't see the authorities going "yeah, just cross over and all the best for the game".

How big is the squad? Will dropping 8 players from the squad because they crossed the border mean that they don't have a match day 15 (including the correct number of front rowers)?

I was up at their training on Tuesday. They have a big squad.
They were doing opposed scrums with a full pack, plus a few extras.
(that was after 2 injured players left to go home - Sanchez maybe one?)

They are in a bubble, but not exactly a strict one.
They also have 2 QLD liaison people. You would imagine they weren't consulted prior to the day trip.

According to SMH only 6 players and 2 staff. The Capt was not one of the day trippers apparently

Maybe they were guys outside of the game day who thought to take a break from the bubble? If so nil Impact on the game. Bad optics all the same.

Ok, No Montoya and only 6 makes it fine game wise.

The squad was initially 47, but some injuries and some returned to europe since. Still a massive squad and would have covered the loss of 8 players regardless, even if those players were in the prefered 23.

All is well.

Carry on.

Particularly bad that Medrano was among them, after a season with the Force he should've been very aware of how strict the covid protocols are in Australia

I can understand their confusion - they were told QLD is beautiful one day, perfect the next, right?

All they've seen is sweaty bullshit tropical heat, a bunch of mangrove swamps on a dirty river, and a neon strip without any soul.

If you'd found yourself in Byron and surrounds, surely you'd think that was an improvement and therefore what you were promised.

The Queensland Government has reduced the capacity to 75% due to COVID cases. Good luck to Rugby Australia (and the NRL) who now have to hustle and try to work out how not to let various ticket holders in.

No idea on what basis they refund various tickets.
