Slade named in All Blacks squad
Yahoo!Xtra Sport - September 1, 2010, 9:25 am

Uncapped Canterbury first-five Colin Slade has been named as Dan Carter’s injury cover in Graham Henry’s side named to take on Australia in the Bledisloe cup.

Slade, who was first drafted into the All Blacks squad in 2009, has played for Canterbury and the Crusaders, and will join the squad in Sydney on Sunday.

Although Slade has been called into the squad as injury cover, it has been speculated that Aaron Cruden will make his Test debut in the Carter role against Australia on September 11.

Awesome, haven't had a good sledging thread for a while. We usually wait until we get the next match done first, though.
What the hell, you mutton-fanciers are gonna get kebabbed, ay!

Not sure about that, as coaches I thought it was nil all in world cups?

Probably a good thing that we didn't go on and put 70 on the Boks as we would have lost in Sydney for sure, last nights game will still keep the young Wallabies grounded as they know they almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Massive ask for the Wobs coming back from SA & having to back up with such a short turn around considering the AB's had a weeks rest before the left for the Republic.

Good example was the MCG 2007 when the AB's had just come back from a bruising encounter in SA & had to back up within 6 days & the Wallabies really dominated the 2nd half after the AB's looked like rolling us after the 1st half.

Deans will need his bench on earlier than the 70th minute next week & if Hodgson is fit I'd have him on the bench.

Give Burgess 20 minutes or more as well as he is a true impact player & he can match it with Weepu in the physical side.

Hopefully they sell a few more tickets now after last night so there is a good crowd to fire up the Wallabies.

The Bloomers crowd was motivational for the Bokke. When things were not good in 1st 1/2 they got quieter and quieter, and ended up booing some of their own.
A tough bunch of ferals who appear to have no problems eating their own young.

2nd half, the crowd rose with the Saffer performance.

Lesson for the Goldrush Faithful for Olympic Park this week. It is almost 10 years to the day that we all helped Cathy win the 400 metres gold. We did it then. We can do it again.

Dress in Gold, Sing your hearts out. Wear your scarfs. Just get there. The 2010 Goldrush is ON.

So is the consensus that Fainga'a will get more than a few weeks? He deserves it IMO.

If so, who comes into the squad as the backup hooker? Fitzpatrick? Edmonds?

You would have to hope it is Fitzpatrick. As much as Edmonds is a great impact player with the silky ball handling skills for a front rower to boot.

When Tatafu comes back whoever it is might be looking at the 3rd hooker spot after Fainga's brain explosion last night, better off to keep blooding the young fellas.

Who is actually going to the game? I've been lucky enough to been given a ticket by a Kiwi mate in return for a place to sleep for the night so very much looking forward to it. Not sure how Mrs Riddler is going to cope with us coming back home, one happy, one not so happy!

At least 10000 Old Boys to sing the National Anthem!

Join the Gold Rush. Very timely reminder TT about how we all got Our Cathy across the line 10 years ago at this very location. We can all do it all again.
