Thats a dangerous announcement to have made.
Now silence on any issue will be an admission - whereas the reality is that this is the sort of thing that happens every where all the time: the ARU should identify the manufacturer of the faulty hinge.

A few years ago this incident would probably have made it into 1 or 2 biographies and the odd after dinner speech. Now that newspapers have internet sites to constantly update stuff like this ends up being reported.

I think the best solution would be to invite the Irish squad over to help with the redevelopment of ANZ stadium. Once it's completed they could then have a Hollywood Walk of Fame type deal on the concourse with various damaged doors and walls embedded in the concrete with the names of the players and officials responsible.
