Wallabies Alternate Strip

Just found a pic of this pretty horrible looking strip on the Lovell Rugby website.

Are we actually a chance of ever having to wear it in a Test or this just fulfilling some sort of "you must have an alternative strip" clause? I mean what other team in the world cup wears blindingly bright yellow - I mean gold?

Yep. I reckon they will wear it in one of the meaningless pool games. Its an IRB thing, not sure its compulsorary to wear it. Helps the merchandisers sell more jerseys though.

Romania have a Yellow jersey. They're not in our pool though, and I won't be putting money on meeting them in the quarter finals.

from a marketing point of view, our jersey is a hard sell. no one looks good in that colour. And girls wont wear it. if anything, our alternate should be white with a gold piping

Nah i think our alternate should be dark blue. Gold/Yellow is already a light colour so have the alternative a dark one. Maybe something simple like the socceroo's away jersey.

They are stuck with the stupid panels of "modern" rugby jerseys, there isn't much they can actually go and do.

Most of the jerseys are pretty dire as they are just variations on theme.

I would prefer an "old fashioned" hoops design of Green and Gold.
