Wallabies 2025

Based on current form/availability/previous international form (Tupou), my forward pack would be:

1. Bell
2. Pollard
3. Tupou
4. Williams
5. Frost
6. Hooper
7. McReight
8. Valetini

16. Paenga-Amosa
17. Slipper
18. Ala'alatoa
19. Salakai-Loto
20. Gleeson

Realistically, I expect the forward pack to look like:

1. Bell
2. Faesslar
3. Tupou
4. Williams
5. Skelton
6. Valetini
7. McReight
8. Wilson

16. Paenga-Amosa/Pollard
17. Slipper
18. Ala'alatoa
19. Salakai-Loto
20. Gleeson

Assuming Faesslar and Wilson are fit, they're straight in for me. Locks are a toss up, but Williams should be locked in. Not sure what Skelton's form has been like overseas but if he's fit I can't imagine he wouldn't be selected. Frost and Salakai-Loto should both be in the squad, but who actually plays is another question. Despite signing overseas, Gleeson should be locked in for the 20 jersey. Hooper is pushing for a spot and if Wilson isn't fit then I'd have him at 6 with Valetini sliding to 8. We could also look at a 6-2 bench, in which case I'd carry Frost and Salakai-Loto on the bench together.

Side note, but if for whatever reason Sua'ali'i isn't fit, do we consider a centre combo of Ikitau at 12 and Daugunu at 13?

I cant see Tizzano on the bench just because of the size differential (although he has earned it). WIlliams is a shoe in but gives up a lot of bulk so i reckon Gleeson, uru or Champs de Crep will get the bench roll to add some weight and potentially a lineout option. CDC isnt far behind Tizzano each week on the tackle stats and would thrive in the Lions style game, and you want a big body to target Aki and Tuipolutu in the midfield.

One way or the other though there will be significant changes between the first and third tests.
Saw De Crep go off injured? against Brumbies. Any news on that or did I make that up

Early Predicted team for the Lions tour ( If Joey is ok as well as Noah)

1. Angus Bell
2. Dave Porecki
3. AAA (VC)
4. Nick Frost
5. Lukhan Salakaia-Loto
6. Rob Valetini
7. Fraser McReight
8. Harry Wilson (C)
9. Jake Gordon
10. Noah Lolesio
11. Corey Toole
12.Hunter Paisami
13. Len Ikitau
14. Filipo Daugunu
15. Joseph Sua'ali'i

16. Matt Faessler
17. James Slipper
18. Tom Robertson ?
19. Jeremey Williams
20. Carlo Tizzano
21. Tate McDermont
22. Ben Donaldson
23. Dylan Pietsch

Thoughts??
Corey Toole imho is not a Test player. Potter or Kellaway. Potter to start and Kellaway on bench for Pietsch. Ikitau 12 instead of Paisami, Wright fullback JS 13. Not sure Porecki to start either.

I'd go for the backline
12. Ikitau
13. Sua'ali'i
14. Potter
15. Wright

Paisami and Daugunu on the bench

What are the chances he's playing in the top 14 final? If he is he might not have the prep time required to shoot straight into the squad.
I'd say it's almost guaranteed to play in the final so that's a good point. On the other hand, Skelton should be free in a couple weeks.

Hooper at 6 with Skelton/Salakai-Loto and Williams, Valetini and Mcreight would have an awful lot of punch to it and still have two/three lineout jumpers. Then Gleeson and Frost on the bench gives us continued go-forward, speed and strong lineout options.

Surely there's no chance that Schmidt is picking Kellaway ahead of Potter. For me he's been the most consistent winger from the aussie side.

Tizzano? Has had a blinder of a season so far. Schmidt would surely have to have a look at him

He's definitely in my squad. Just not sure we can fit 2 no.7s in the 23.... unless your going with a 6/2 bench. On that point, If hypothetically you were going to go with Tom Lynagh to start and Donaldson on the bench. You might be able to get away with 6/2 split on the basis that Donaldson can also cover outside backs and Daungunu can cover centre. pretty risky though
