Wallabies 2024

Schmidt is huge on ball control and uses his backrow to control the breakdown. Whoever shows they can do that will get the nod. Based on the last 20 tests, none of them are good enough at that.

Sounds a bit like Jahrome Brown and maybe the NZ connection will come into effect?

Based on what ? Your vast knowledge of rugby?
Tate is in for sure, Petaia has to be in as well even if we're not sure whether it's at 13, winger, or fullback. Unsure why he thinks only Fraser gets in when he had arguably the weakest World Cup showing of the three players.

We’re playing Georgia on the 20th July at Allianz - only two tests against Wales in July also at Allianz and Melbourne

The domestic test schedule could set Schmidt up for a respectable first year win ratio...

It doesn't get much easier than that... Wales and Georgia... no tests in South Africa.
Yeah, probably would've preferred the Georgia game up first to build into the season but otherwise it's about as good as he could've hoped for. Even the NZ game is in Wellington, which is significantly better than Eden park.

I wonder if they'll try for a warm up game on the way North still, if things are going well it's a rare shot at a grand slam so they'll want to be primed and ready to go.

There’s been a discussion on this concept over in the cricket thread recently.

Obviously RA has done the sums that have lead them to make the decisions they have in scheduling. I’d be extremely interested to know how they factor engaging their base into those sums.

In the same fashion, I would certainly hope Georgia isn’t at Homebush, possibly never a greater opportunity to get out to Brookvale.
