I know you don't rate him but he is clearly talented. He's from rare crop of playmakers all the same age, being Harrison, Lolesio and himself, between that and the Tahs also having Edmed at their disposal he doesn't know whether he is Arthur or Martha when it comes to what position he should play, which has no doubt hindered his development. In that U20s team Harrison was the 10, Lolesio 12 and Donaldson 15, and there was another talented fella kicking around as well who's name escapes me. They were all 10s but they had to play two of them out of position to get them all on the field at the same time.Donaldson could be a case study in failing upwards.
That's who I was thinking of. Donaldson definitely played some minutes at 15 though.Pretty sure Isaac Lucas was 15. Donaldson was the reserve 10.
Quade of 2023 after his injury isn't Quade of 2022 and before but I think he needs to be there as the reserve 10 and almost a player-coach. He seems to have an impact on the younger guys and is an excellent leader. My controversial opinion is that we aren't gaining much, if anything, by having QC (Quade Cooper) (Quade Cooper) on the bench and possibly even in the squad. He looks old and a bit shit.
That’s the question though, is Quade even apart of the best team?We might be a snowballs chance in hell but there is no way I want us to go into this World Cup with any other thought then we are picking the best team we can to win now. The British Lions & 27 World Cup come later.
Some of the Donaldson posts are hitting fever dream areas... plenty of time for 'building experience' in a July series against Wales... not the WC lmfaoWe might be a snowballs chance in hell but there is no way I want us to go into this World Cup with any other thought then we are picking the best team we can to win now. If Gordon is injured then we're looking pretty poor
Yeah look I dont mind him being in the squad, realistically it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, and I'm sure he is a good influence. I am convinced that Quade needs Kerevi doing shit to be effective though. A few weeks ago everyone thought it would be a good idea to give Gordon some game time off the bench. Point being it's hard to predict what might happen. Stephen Donald in 2011 being a case in point.A earlier post suggested we should select for the future. Well - that was how I took it at least.
In any case, I think he is part of our best squad of 33. The other options are Donaldson, Foley, Lolesio and maybe Hodge. I’d prefer him to all of those.
Harrison and Donalson shared the 10/15 position in the JWC. Harrison got the nod at 10 at Lucasc15 in the pointy end but yes, both played 15 at times. They did the same when both playing for RandwickThat's who I was thinking of. Donaldson definitely played some minutes at 15 though.
and Bowen will likely get a run too. You'd keep QC (Quade Cooper) (Quade Cooper) there for now, but from next year move on. The flyhalves running around in Asutralian Super Rugby teams will be Gordon (who will be the man in possession of the gold 10 jersey), Lolesio, Edmed, Lynagh, Donaldson, Burey and Pasitoa which is an acceptable position to be in a post RWC year.
Which ones are they? Some of the Donaldson posts are hitting fever dream areas... plenty of time for 'building experience' in a July series against Wales... not the WC lmfao
All that ‘built experience’ Quade had was worth a hill of beans yesterdaySome of the Donaldson posts are hitting fever dream areas... plenty of time for 'building experience' in a July series against Wales... not the WC lmfao
He is well up for discussion, given Eddie has him in the squad, for now. Even if it seems most posters are scratching their heads as to why. Some of the Donaldson posts are hitting fever dream areas... plenty of time for 'building experience' in a July series against Wales... not the WC lmfao
I heard ours is Thursday (or is that when they go to Darwin?)Has there been a squad announcement date yet?
Most countries are doing theirs tomorrow, are we?
