Neville with 8 lineout wins and 1 steal…

Frost with 6 lineout wins…

According to the stats on the Super Rugby website.

It would be strange if they didn’t win a single lineout all night… maybe it’s time to start watching some Super Rugby?
Like I said I didn't watch the game and it was a bit of a dig at the stats.. The individual stats on Union Live are obviously wrong but now that I see the team stats there I concur with the tally of 14 lineout wins. I'm still not seeing Hooper picked as an openside at test level, it may work with the dynamics of the other Brumbies backrowers at provincial level. Edit: I have now since had a watch of the highlights - he was certainly kitted out as though the intention was to use him in the lineout, guessing they were winning safe ball through Neville/Frost so didn't need to call on the third option.

hope Eddie is taking notes from here ;)
Yep a bloke who didn't watch the game and another bloke who concurs with an internet piece by renowned selector James Horwill. Anyways, I am going to rule 10 myself on this issue now. If Eddie picks Tom Hooper there I hope he kills it. Particularly being a Central West NSW product.

The role of a 7 has changed. Even I have noticed it.

The game and roles are constantly changing… until another great player/team comes along and changes it again...

Physical traits expected of fullbacks and wingers had become 6’2” and 105kg, until Cheslin Kolbe came along and redefined that expectation again.

Yeah, but you're talking about now.

It's hardly just a Hooper thing: for Scotland, post BILs tour 5'11" Hamish Watson has struggled to have the same level of impact he had over the past 4-6 years, where blokes like 6'2" Rory Darge, 6'4" Luke Crosbie & 6'3" Andy Christie have performed very strongly.

For all this talk about size…

If you’ve got a George Smith, Richie McCaw, David Pocock, or even Michael Hooper from a couple of years ago available to select… then…

Finally the day arrives for the first test squad
What’s everyone thoughts? Selections? Bolsters and surprise misses?
my predicted squad below
Slipper / bell / gibbon (schoupp of bell still out)
Lonergan/ porecki / Fainga'a
Alalaatoa / topou / faamausili (talakai if tupou out)
Frost / Neville / Skelton / Phillip may just sneak in the 4th spot
Holloway / leota (expect to see in squad) / hooper / mcreight / valetini / Samu
White / McDermott / lonergan
Cooper / Gorden / foley
Kerevi / ikatau / Foketi
Korobeti / kellaway / Wright / Petaia / hodge

bolters - would need to be Wilken / Kemeny and hooper in back row

Unlucky to miss out - Gleeson and or Wilson, maybe one of these may sneak a back row spot

could see vunivalu, or Marky N sneaking in
