Happy that Wilson got a recall.

He didn’t have his best game against the Brumbies but he has absolutely busted his gut for the Reds this year. Whatever the issues are at Ballymore Wilson, McReight & Wright haven’t lacked for either effort or impact on games.

For what it’s worth I’ll say in advance too that I disagree that he still has an issue with impact at the line which seems the common criticism. More often than not he is getting past shoulders and landing post contact point. For me his issue is more to do with his ball security and showing he can be a valid lineout target.

He still has an almighty job to do to push his way up the pecking order, but I am personally happy to see him rewarded for his form.

I thought he was leading the comp for post contact meters?

Right so Quade gets injured say at training or first 10 mins going into a RWC semi and you’d be more comfortable with Carter Gordon at 10 over Foley?

If Quade goes down and is properly cooked then we can draft in a player to replace him. That player might be Foley. I think we need to look at Gordon in the lead up games and if he plays well then I think he goes to France.

There's a 48 or even 72 hour stand down period of a new players in the squad (so France or just the UK/Ireland don't get a big advantage)

What happens if Quade goes down in the captain's run or very early on in a match? You want Foley.

I heard that said by the commentators too - but can’t speak for the accuracy. But when you think about it, he could make a couple of big charges through contact and that would rack off the metres. They said yesterday he leads the comp for hit ups, so it’s possible that stat in itself is misleading.

Regardless, my observation is he is making post contact metres most carries - sometimes right through the tackle into a clean break, but regularly at least pushing past the gain line and generating quick, front-foot ball.

I don’t. I thought Foley showed quite clearly last year he can no longer be relied on at test level. Give Gordon a run in the RC. If he struggles revert to Lolesio or Hodge. I’d take any of those options before Foley. I’d prefer O’Connor too so long as I know he is fit and has been playing (ie not coming back from the injury ward).

Oh come on. Foley was the 10 v Ireland and France last year. He kicked his goals.

We want Foley in a RWC playoff, not an inexperienced youngster.

Who in ' not considered' is injured?
Did Hanigan, Ikitau, Porecki, Samu, Schoupp, Swain get dropped or injured?

I’m confused by the whole thing. If they’re injured and considered integral they should be on the rehab list with the other 3 blokes. If they are dropped their names shouldn’t even be on the piece of paper. That bottom section should not even be there.

Schoupp was replaced with HIA, so no mystery there. Ikitau was holding his upper arm at half time and seems to be carrying an injury. I think Samu has been playing with niggles for a while and Swain is just one game back from injury. Probably likely to be injuries in all their cases. Can't say for Porecki (although he might have also had HIA against the Force?) and Hanigan.

Like you I slightly confused, if they got injuries why even bother replacing them at an early year camp, or does Eddie want a certain number for drills etc he got planned?

RA has paid for the room, by god their will be someone sleeping in the bed.

I really don’t care about this camp now. Biggest impact it will have is on bolters to keep up the good work and the capped wallabies left out to aim the hell up over the next 2 months.

I trust Carter in a big game if there’s an alternative goal kicker on the field.

hasmy really been giv n the opportunity to become the incumbent goal kicking option at the rebels but with hodge overseas next year I suspect 2024 will be his year.

I actually think this wallabies damp there will some type of evaluation/chat conducted to say this is the area CG needs to refine.

Note on Quade he hasn't played for Kintetsu yet & they only have 1 game left which will prob be a relegation game v Green Rockets. I think Quade is our best chance but he wont have played a game by the time we play RSA.

Sounds like some classic Eddie mind games at play here

I think its been reported he wants 2 30 min full contact sessions, cant do that with players that are stood down with concussion or players that need a full week or more recovery.

We are we at the point we need Faessler!

Porecki (hia sat night)
Fainga'a (achilles soreness)

Lonergan
Latu (I assume injured not playing sat night)
Mafi (broken finger)

Uelese
Pollard (only just back from long term inj)
McInnerney (neck injury at training)

Feaessler

Alarm bells are ringing
