Wallabies 2023

I wonder what this means for McKellar going forward. It was already looking unlikely he'd succeed Rennie, but I doubt he'll look at staying on as an assistant after the world cup with this change. Hopefully the communication between him and RA has been good throughout this process and we don't end up burning him and loosing his coaching IP.

Another positive statement about this crazy move: This WC is called to be the European redemption, I mean, France and Ireland are the favorites as never. Eddie knows them carefully after been playing the 6 nations the last years lol

Losing to them with a better team, you mean?

Well wel well, can't say I hugely surprised, seems not always a lot of truth coming from rugby boards is there?
Anyway, I would think it a huge warning to any other foreign coach (ie Razor) for jobs with Wallabies.

Can I also say I actually wouldn't be against if coaches has to have similar rules as players to coach test teams, even if I know it wouldn't work!

Getting a feeling that McKellar isn't very popular amongst playing groups and this flows on. He won't be out of a job somewhere but he is definitely in a strange situation right now.

Getting sacked with a contract is the best gig in the world.

I want to say surely he'd be kept on by Jones as he has his nose across Super Rugby better than anyone else in Australia atm but Eddie may have an idea of a team he wants. Was McKellar on a long deal?

True - better all these talented NZ coaches twiddle their thumbs at home while a useless donkey gets the best coaching gig in the world by default.

The other thing is haven't the Wallabies just had a camp at Sanctuary Cove under Rennie? Seems a waste of money etc!\
Mind you should of known when "Honest John Hamish" confirmed Rennie as the right man to lead Wallabies to the WC?

Still Deans was rejected by NZR and got a gig with Wallabies and now Eddie is fired by Poms, so RA swoop on him?

i'll be surprised if he makes it to the WC given Eddie's history with assitants.
