Wallabies 2023

Viking

They have an advantage: Cheika knows everything about Aussie Rugby, he worked analyzing Super Rugby and even coached some of the players. I'm not sure if Rennie has that knowledge about Argie Rugby

Eddie Jones has beat the Wallabies 10 times since 2015, so that's a HUGE advantage IMO

You know Cheika doesn't analysis the opposition. So he only knows the 2013-15 Tahs and 2014-19 Wallabies. You can safely assume he knows 0% about any other players besides those two teams.

We seem to have been 6 for a fair while and we need to be a couple of positions higher to convince me we are heading in the right direction. We appear to be treading water.

Fix these and we could be on our way?
Defence? When was the last time we were outscored in tries in tests? We outscored England over the series and I think some or most of the EOYT sides last year. Maybe NZ in TRC last year.

I think our defence is up there with the best. Discipline is our problem area.

Until last week people used say that about Cheika and that Rennie is different so he was going to beat England. If my mathematics are OK, coaching by Rennie the record against Eddie is 1/4.

So maybe Cheika and his controversial players like Phipps/Simons weren't the only issues as well as Rennie isn't now. Maybe Cheika, Rennie, Deans and McKenzie weren't the issue and the problem is deeper

Quade Cooper would have been the difference…

I agree the problem almost certainly is deeper but I disagree regarding Rennie and Cheika, both have very different styles of coaching.

My comment said nothing about the 7s World Cup. but I kind of hope he does now to see how you cope with it
It's just logical thinking. You have 3 spots for overseas players, Rennie called Rory (according some users) so you have to release one spot. Koroi and QC (Quade Cooper) looks compromise with the team, so the answer is quite simple.

Cheika couldn't beat Eddie Jones as Wallabies coach(1-8), Rennie neither(1-3). Both are useless or maybe Eddie is a genius, he always finds a way to beat Australia lol
Cheika never beat Eddie Jones as wallabies coach, his record against him is 0-7

and Angus Bell to be ruled out with Matt Gibbon called up.
How did Matt Gibbon go in Aus A games? I didn't get to watch the games unfortunately, but very happy they're back. I would have guessed Tom Robertson would have been next cab off the rank.

yep - Wilson nails it. I actually thought Robertson played really well. But Gibbon was great as well and has been part of the extended Wallaby squad for a couple of years. Great recognition for him. Love those Gibbon brothers - they've had an incredible life journey so deserve all the success they get.
