Are the numbers down for AFL? I haven't been following. I'd imagine Melbourne especially might still be hesitant to goto massive events but I think you'd be surprised, I reckon we can get close to a sell out, it's only 30k at AAMI. Also, depressingly the number of rugby fans in Melbourne is much larger than Rebels fans.

Massively & capped at I think 75%. Most ppl that worked in the city are only doing 2 days a week max & no one does friday's. When I lived in melb in my 20's you'd get a beer after work & end up just going to an afl/storm/rebels game on a wim. Now city bars are dead & its not an easy process to go to the footy anymore

Unfortunately the French are beholden to the most demanding clubs in the rugby world. I think it’ll be a good chance for us both to try out our depth and trust me the french’s C team will still have wall to wall talent.

Yep, and let us all think on it when we want clubs/franchises to contract the players and not RA.

I overheard in the Castres v Lyon game that it was Rodda’s last match before returning to Australia. So, we’ll see him get a few games for the Force in the TT.

Edit: I guess if he’s not signed for 2021 he might just have a bit of a break. Interesting that he’s leaving now though.

They just lost & pretty much any chance of making finals why not get out of there lol

I'm the opposite, I think they should be applauded for making it work, they could of just said it too hard. I think RA will certainly be grateful anyway.

I guess I look at it from the lens of, it yet being another example of European clubs dictating the International Rugby schedule.

They can spin it as much as they want, but a Tuesday and Wednesday game against a French team won't draw people out of their homes even if it's school holidays. If it was the English or the Lions, then yeah, but historically the French don't lure fringe watching Australians to the game.

Not sure about the Ala'alatoa/Thor starter/finisher combo so feel free to swap the 3s. Hooker is also a bother for me as Amosa is an epic scrummager but won't be around for later tests, Kaituu has great workethic and Fainga'a has the combo with Brumbies

1. Slipper 2. Kaituu 3. Tupou
4. Rodda 5. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)
6. Valetini 8. Wilson 7. Hoops
9. White 10. JOC (James O'Connor) 11. Koroibete 12. To'omua 13. Paisami 14. Wright 15. Banks

16. Amosa 17. Bell 18. Ala'alatoa 19. Phillips 20. Swinton 21. Mcdermott 22. Hodge 23. Petaia

Just reading that the French will only get out of managed isolation the day before first test, and players from top 14 final won't get out until after that? Well it a great way for Wallabies to get in a couple of wins and sneak up the rankings a bit.
And even more kudos to france if it right, that is setting yourself up for an uphill battle!

Ahh, no.

It's zero kudos to France.

They just get away with merde like this thanks to a Gallic shrug and because, well, they're France.

Saffas, on the other hand, putting the handbrake on a test series will end up with a right public shoeing.

UTR, happy with that excepting the locks and bench. For mine I have Phillip and Neville as locks, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and McReight on the bench. Depending on the pattern of the game, McReight could really have some impact off the bench, and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) can cover both the row and 6.
Also, I have Daugunu over Petaia on the bench. For all his talent, Petaia still has a lot to learn about respecting possession and the fact that he's not a schoolboy anymore, when you make a break don't just assume you will then beat everyone else, use your supports.
Let's see how that changes after the TT

Unless Petaia sets the world alight in TT I wouldn't have him in my 23. Daugunu/Wright/Koroibete on the wings. Take Paisami/Ikitau/To'omua in the centres. Just not worth it. I know we don't have close to the depth of NZ, but they wouldn't ever play Petaia after his showing this season. We should respect form.

Is Hooper playing TT at all? If not, I wouldn't be parachuting him into the Wallabies. McReight has shown consistently that he deserves that spot. More importantly, JOC (James O'Connor) has shown he should probably be given the C.

I can't recall a more level headed captain since Eales. His decision making this year is perfect for an international game and would do wonders to rub off on the next generation of Wallabies.

While JOC (James O'Connor) has been solid as captain since taking over from Wright, Id hardly say the decision making has been perfect, the last 10-15 minutes last night demonstrated a series of poor decisions. I assume he kept the C when Wright was out there.

That series of poor decisions lead to a win, so were they really poor decisions?

Yeh the decision to take the tap and not got for scrums when you have a 2 man advantage was a stupid indeed, basically the only change the Brumbies had was disrupting the ball in general play and they gave them that chance - lucky they got there in the end.
I think they got impatient with the scrums. Hopefully the wallabies Captain will learn from this.

Petaia is a tough one. Obvious skill and game breaking ability but prone to brain snaps. He makes my 23 because of his versatility and ability to break a game open. Daugunu hard to include if form is the marker when Thorn has barely used him. Preferring Campbell and Petaia last night speaks volumes. Given he also only plays wing he doesn't get near my 23. Ikitau doesn't have the versatility for the bench so either starts with Paisami at 12 or is out all the side all together. Hodge and Petaia represent the versatility and probably the contrast between reliability and game breaking ability for me at 22/23. Outside of those 2 Id consider Lolesio against France for the 10/12 bench spot with Hodge also.
