you project your own provincial bias on others. But Tahs, Reds and maybe Rebels fans will be lining up to knife the Brumbies if they lose (as they predictably will - and would with 11 from any other province).

FFS, really? And you chip Reg about sarcasm, when you throw this stinky burley out. Do better. But Tahs, Reds and maybe Rebels fans will be lining up to knife the Brumbies if they lose (as they predictably will - and would with 11 from any other province).
The law they just scrubbed to let Kerevi play?
Yeah - they've scrubbed the Giteau law. Apparently its not open slather, but no one knows what it is now.Under the Giteau Law, anyone who has played over 60 test or 7 seasons of Super Rugby can be picked as well as 2 other players that don't meet that criteria.
I was just wondering if now BPA would count as one of the 2 extra players because he is now under contract in the top14 or still considered an Super Rugby player till the end of the RC
I believe he is contracted until the end of the year - traditionally the Australian contracts run through the EOYT. If Montpellier payed for an earlier release that might change things, but in the past any current wallaby who signs overseas has been held onto through to the end of that final year, unless they were no longer wanted. That's my recollection at least.Under the Giteau Law, anyone who has played over 60 test or 7 seasons of Super Rugby can be picked as well as 2 other players that don't meet that criteria.

BPA is the clear stand-out and is injured. Dunno if he will be back in time for RWC.I can't understand the hooker decision making. Ok, clearly a lack of standouts, but in the past 12 months all of BPA, Mafi, Lonergan, McInerney, FF (Folau Fainga'a), Uelese, Horton, Porecki and Kaitu'u have spent time in the squad. Add Latu (overseas) and you have 10 hookers, none of whom have excelled at international level. Who are we investing in? Who is going to be wearing gold at the RWC in 2 years time? What's the plan and what are we doing to solve the uncertainty?
Pretty easy to draw that observation from posts over the years.you project your own provincial bias on others.
Nah, Reg is the King of the dripping pen.FFS, really? And you chip Reg about sarcasm, when you throw this stinky burley out. Do better.
Damon Murphy is officiating, so they might have a chance tomorrow..........Didn’t the reds beat that side in the super rugby final
I’d rephrase that to not enough Reds. I guess BPA, JOC (James O'Connor), Paisami and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) are all out for legit reasons, and Kerevi and Rodda are ‘kinda’ Reds. It probably makes sense that they are mostly replaced by players from the second best franchise. Swinton can cement himself as our long term 6, Valetini has to try to do the same thing in the 8 shirt. If he was a couple of inches taller he would be a weapon of a lock.Too many Tahs………

As for the rest, i would bet Lonergan will be one of two come RWC. The other spot will probably just be the least worst.
There's an argument to getting BPA and Tupou out at once to really power through the scrum. They also compliment each other around the field quite well.In the presser Rennie said that they had BPA penciled in for the bench. I'd place him head and shoulders over the rest too, but Rennie clearly wasn't 100% impressed.
My guess, FWIW, is that the plan is to look for Lonergan to cause some damage with his mobility, taking a punt that he can hold his own in the set pieces (a bit of an ask, admittedly). He could be a match winner. (Or loser). And what did Uelese do to be dismissed? It was clear he was number two for the last couple of tests. I thought he went well and improved the scrum. He is only 24 and has a lot of improvement in him.
Contracts run till December unless released early. Which he hasn't been...yet.With Montpellier starting this week, does BPA now count under the giteau law?
