Wallabies 2021

From Twitter

- Rennie confirms JOC (James O'Connor) has done his groin again. Hopeful for game time against Kiwis at some stage this year
- Koroibete fine
- Vunivalu still on the mend, eyeing TRC
- Petaia is actually fit, will play club footy this weekend, interestingly at 15.
Which side is Petaia playing with today?

Should be Wests but they have Droasese listed at 15, so maybe it’s not happening this week.
It’s on Stan, flicked through the highlights, didn’t see him. Didn’t watch too hard as it was a pretty one sided game. But Wests had a few Rebels playing (carter Gordon, RHP, possibly a few more) which means Marika could possibly serve any suspension in clubland up there if needed. You’d hope common sense would mean his missing most of last nights game was punishment enough (probably too much).

Seems like the wallabies are in a good spot with healthy competition for starting jerseys

1. Slipper/Bell
3. AAA/Tupou
4. Swain/Phillips
6.Valetini/Swinton
8. Wilson/Naisarani
10. Lolesio/O'Connor
11/14. Korabete/Wright/Hodge/Kellaway

Some other positions there is a distinct front runner.

2.BPA
5.LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)
7.Hooper
9.Mcdermott
12.Paisami
13.Ikitau
15. Banks

This is before adding in injured players

Rodda
White
Petaia
Vunivalu
Perese

Probably missing a couple others

Our biggest issue is replacing BPA.

I was just looking at the world rankings and Australia stayed in 6th . Shouldn’t we pass France ?

People talking about Koroibete finding games to miss - remember, as it has been for a little while now, if suspended it will be done in weeks. Not games. He will be suspended until a certain date. Not a number of games. I reckon he’ll miss the first AB test.

I'm trying to find the stats for the series but no luck - wanted to check Lolesio's goal kicking percentage. I think he missed one shot the whole series? Can anyone confirm that?

I said right before he missed that shot that he hadn't missed a shot all series....

It was interesting listening to Rennie talk about it in the press conference and he pointed out he was part of a panel which advised on the current framework. His key point was that on contact the French players head came forward, not backwards which was a clear indication that initial contact was not with the head.

I haven’t reviewed the footage closely enough to confirm that, but it does seem a logical argument and one that they should be able to prove, if true.

We should appeal, if such a thing is allowed. I reckon there would an SC who would do the job pro bono.

Fair enough. Wasn’t sure how that worked.

^ I reckon the ranking points have been miscalculated. Pre-match points were Aus 83.90, FRA 83.45 so an Aus win by <15 gives Aus 84.56 & FRA 82.80

They are correct. It's only updated once a week so the movement includes two tests.

The starting points are correct but firstly, Australia drops to 82.56 and France rises to 84.80 after the 2nd test.

Then Australia goes up to 83.48 and France drops to 83.88 (but remains above Australia in the rankings).

Typical bloody accountant. You’re supposed to make the figures work for us. What are we paying you for???
