Hopefully we can get in a good coaching setup.

A few notable players we'll miss as they were hitting their peak - Arnold, Kerevi, Latu..........

But quite a number of good young players coming through, and our junior and schoolboy teams have been excelling recently.

I'll be happy to see Pete Samu back in gold.......... he averaged more metres per carry, and had more tackle busts than any other Aus backrower in Super Rugby, and seems to do alright in the lineout for his height - could've been a handy addition to the RWC squad if Cheika wasn't such a baby.

Certainly will miss Arnold; he is unbelievable at maul time, and does a mountain of work otherwise.

Not so sure about Kertevi or Latu. Kerevi again today showed that he disrupts the attack as much as he gets it on the front foot with his penchant for dieing with the ball. I think we can find a more effective 12/13 combination without him.

Latu came good, but not what you'd say was exceptionally better than Uelese or Fainga'a. Really good back up available at hooker.

The No 10 spot looks to be the most urgent problem. Maybe Matt To'omua, but will he play 10 or 12 for the Rebels. Is Deegan ready to step up? I don't see any of the other young No 10s coming through being ready for test rugby next year.

Like Slim, I would like to see Pete Samu get some opportunities again next year. He makes more ground in contact than any other player in the country. Rob Valetini will also be in the frame for his hard as nails defense.

Latu came good, but not what you'd say was exceptionally better than Uelese or Fainga'a. Really good back up available at hooker.

Latu deserved his starting spot with consistently good performances.........

Uelese though was largely invisible, and showed no signs of his 2017 form......... shouldn't have featured so regularly ahead of Fainga'a whose form was way ahead, and stronger in the set piece.

10/12 is going to be interesting..........

To'omua should be the frontrunner for 10 (and will need to play there for the Rebels) as really the last experienced option left unless one of the rookies steps up.

JOC (James O'Connor) might have an inside running for 12, and will likely play there for the Reds with Petaia at 13.

To'omua, kurtley and Kuridrani will all be phased out this cycle. Angus Crichton will return this cycle also.

Behind these blokes above there is a fair bit of depth in some areas. E.g. Robertson, Holloway, Samu, Gordon, Maddocks, Banks etc. The worry is what to do at 10, hopefully something really good transpires from these younger fellas.

This is a problem we still haven’t solved since Foley went south. Too mua is non-sensical imho. He was 3rd string behind foley and llf so why on earth would he start now. I’d rather lose by 40 giving deegan, Lucas or some other 20 yr old a crack.

We need to stop being desperate recruiting has beens from OS to come back and be our saviours. Show some faith in the local.

#4 a halfback who has KPI’s related to how many steps he takes before passing (Genia almost owes my neighbour a new tv)

2020 will be a bit dire. 2022 We will hopefully see if our youngsters, in particular locks, will come through. Playmakers obviously a problem, a lot rides on how guys like Deegan, Harrison, Lucas etc progress. Lot's of opportunity for them.

Keen to see how middle tier guys and league converts end up shaping up to provide centre and wing depth - Wright, Simone, Foketi, Moeroa, Kata & Vunivalu (maybe)

Don't discount Tepai Moeroa as a smokey for 12, he was dominant at schools level before clocking up over 100 NRL games - he would give us that big tough, strong human to get over the advantage line

God this gets trotted out a lot. He has not at any point showed any real interest in coaching in the Wallaby structure. Why? Don't know.
But I very much doubt he will be in the mix.

I'm reasonably well connected to his family. It's literally pub talk, but it's well sourced pub talk. His contract at the Roosters will run its course but after that it's game on. Put it this way, he has pretty much achieved everything he wanted to in loig.

I like Eddie Jones as a coach. AT the last RWC while leading Japan he was asked how you would coach England. His response was along the lines of "you would coach them to play like England". I'd imagine that if he had control of the ABs, they would look very much like they do.

I'm not convinced that Dave Rennie would coach an England much like they are. And coaching Australia is harder than that for a coach. Not the depth for one.

I thought that Dingo's problem was, while he had a plan, a good one and proven, it needed depth to be able select the team to play it. It worked at the Crusaders, but not for the Wallabies.

I like Rennie, but is he the right bloke?
