So everyone gets the Eddie Jones free pass except Tom Hooper?
I like what Tom Hooper has bought to the gold jersey in his opportunities, seems he's down the coaching staffs pecking order now, but so is Uru, he's only, maybe, getting an opportunity because of two other injuries.
Hope he takes it, he can be a game changer.

Like I said I think it’s an opportunity for Schmidt to see if blokes are up to it. Cant imagine they want 40 blokes in a squad v the Lions. A tight squad of 28-30 at most.

Tom Hooper must be a fair way down though. I still think he has potential as an out and out second rower if he was told that’s where he’s going.

Gleeson is an asset on the bench with his ability to cover multiple spots and bring some energy late.

This is the attitude that worries me. It’s a test match, a chance at a grand slam, not some preseason friendly
Im all for building consistency and think Schmitty has been making a solid effort of it. Not sure about Suualii coming off for Kerevi. But also when do you build depth? Surely these games are the games to do it?

There would be no argument if Leota was fit as he would be the six in the 15. However, as a Tahs man I really am enjoying the banter between Reds and Brumbies fans. For what it is worth I think Uru is a more dynamic player than Hooper. I also think Tom Hooper has been over hyped.

IMO depth would be better built off the bench, in Aus A and used as injury cover. Usually plenty of injuries to allow the next lot of players to get game time.

For lineouts 5m out from the opponents try-line, put our halfback in as a 1 man lineout.

Get the hooker to throw the ball high and long (e.g. past the 15m mark), and have Joseph start the play in the flyhalf position.

Well, first, you need 2 players to form a lineout in addition to the player throwing. So there's that.

And, because the throwing side determines the maximum numbers at the lineout, the defense now has 12 players within 5 metres of the lineout, while you only have 3 and hopefully someone runing onto the ball, who is about to have their ribs broken.

There's conservative, and then there's poorly-thought-out.

Yeah and it would be such a Wallaby thing to one week have an incredible win and than take a massive step back by losing to a shit team

The Lions series looms large and JS needs to get his ducks in a row. Agree Williams probably needs a a rest and we will need him against Scotland and Ireland.

The reality is there are only so many test matches between now and the Lions series and I’m sure that is the big goal for this group.

It’s highly doubtful we will have our absolute best choice 1-23 available for every game next year. The ABs and SBs have had so much dominance because they were confident in the whole squad.

I’d rather allow guys like Kerevi, Uru and Skelton to potentially sink or swim in a one off test at 3am on Monday against Wales, than carry them into a Lions series with zero recent test match experience and potentially watch them let the team down.

Honestly there is every chance Kerevi and Skelton are still in our best 23 anyways. I still have fading hopes of Skelton having a late career test bloom.
