Shit. Straight sets? At least no Neddies or Soaks.

I still don't understand splitting the premiership and championship.

I still don't understand splitting the premiership and championship.

It was all about addressing the issue between the top division and the lower division as there was no Club support for a relegation process.

Gives a chance for the developing community teams to mix it with the top teams and if they are good enough then they could be in the top 6 teams to play off for the Premiership with final order depending upon performance over the last 5 rounds before the finals.

It worked this year as normally Associates would be still in the top division - despite the poor performance.

Unfortunately, the change was made at the same time as a major down-turn in the WA mining industry and the axing of the Western Force so player numbers were decimated.

Still a work in progress but has significant issues that are unlikely to be addressed until after these Covid times.
The top clubs still have more $$s to throw around than the outer-suburb clubs.

Junior Rugby development is working well as attested by the Wallabies squad visits last week.
One significant development is the North Coast club that has started in Butler (nthn growth area) starting at Under 6's to Under 16’s with a goal to field teams through to colts in 2023.

That makes sense, it's where most of the expats live. I take it they're not all playing at Britannia anymore?
