Is Murray Douglas still with the Quins? Know he played for the Rebels against the Blehs in Preseason, but didn't see him on the teamlists this week.

Spoke to a mate at QUINS and he said they had quite a few injuries from their trial games against Melbourne and Canberra Royals and were playing it safe with the Easter break post Rd 1 to give guys an extended break for injury recovery - expect to see Lloyd, Maradona, Leo Tailu, Murray Douglas plus some more back post Easter. They also have 8-9 guys in Rebels 20's though am sure many of them will play Colts instead of 1sts. On their website Pom is listed as Head Coach so doubt he will be playing.

Round two this weekend and a few mouth watering match ups.

Melbourne v Box Hill will be a cracker.
Quins v Moorabbin will also be a belter, arguably the game of the round from people who have seen both sides.
Uni v Endeavour will be a lot closer than people think.
Souths v House seems like the battle of the poor sides.
Footscray going against the plucky underdog side called "bye", I think they should walk away from that with 4 points.

Poor sides? Wouldn't write off either to cause some havoc at the back end of the season with regards to the non-poor clubs finals aspirations.

anyways, good to see our young fellas getting up to Brisbane on Sunday and having a crack on behalf of the state, a lot of home grown talent in there!

Only early days but it looks like 3 groups of teams emerging. Unicorns, Box Hill and Quins fighting out the top spots and House, Rams, Dogs and even End Hills in the next batch - depth when injuries kick in will be the big question which is why Rams and House might keep their nose in front of the other two. These 4 teams play each other this week so will have a better indication where they sit after this round. As for the Students and the Pirates, think it is going to be a long year for them.
Tips this week; Dogs at home - long way for Endeavour to travel, Quins over the students in the GF replay, Rams at home over House, a Broncos win at home against Souths.

Quality day down at Box Hill. Convincing wins in all Grades for the home sides, and hosting all of the Old Farts sides meant a busy and productive day behind the bar.

Trivia night would have cleaned the Bar out. Is Harvey still running the show, or has he handed the reins over to you?

Ross seems to have taken over the regular running. I took over the lower bar while the Grades were playing, and given how much he was required here, there and everywhere, it's probably a good thing. Missed out on the evening stuff, had to be out pretty sharp at 5.20, both to make a dinner and to get the old man home to ice and painkillers!

Impressive win by EH away at the dogs - does anyone know much about the game? Rams win over House sounds like it was a tight match, but I was more surprised by the Rams Beating House in both 2nds and 3rds. House are usually strong in both grades, so the pool might be a bit shallow at Albert Park this year - or were there some extenuating circumstances?

^^^^Have not seen them play but looking at the team sheets it seems like there is 3-5 players gone up in each grade to replace retired/departed players.

I don't know how well recruitment went over the summer either, both 2nds and 3rds and 4ths have new coaches. The 4's got hammered in their first game to, was a lot of players missing from that side to. Alot of starters from the side that played in the GF last year.

As always PH look short on props.

By the sounds of it some cracking games around the traps this weekend with only 1 game being a "blow out" and even then, the report I heard was Quins had to work for everything they got.

Power House is a great day on the lake on the Friday beforehand, usually rolls downstairs into the clubhouse for a few hours after as well.
