Surely he's a chance to suit up with the Rams for the finals? I know he hasn't played the 6 necessary games but usually you get dispensation for Rep games (i.e. playing for the Rebels).
Are the Rebels technically a rep. side? As they are separate entity of the VRU.

Not technically but in the modern game you'd have to pay it. So, will Blake be playing for the Rams in the granny?

Anything to see a competitive game.

The Moorabbin Rams are through to next week’s Dewar Shield final after overcoming a spirited Footscray side at Keys Rd on Saturday. The 30-27 victory means the Rams will face a highly fancied Melbourne outfit who overcame Power House to maintain their unbeaten season. The Rams got off to a quick start skipping to a

If the Harold Mitchell cup is anything to go by this will be a cracker of a game.

Hope the referee can keep up....it's going to be a quick and open game unless he gets too involved, all of us spectators are wishing he lets it flow for once!

It was an awesome final, Melbourne were so static at times, Moorabbin had plenty of flair and deserved it.

The Colts game was fantastic too, the lead changing hands several times.

Quote of the day: "We should bloody win this, we have the resources". Money != Premiership.

Maybe Melbourne just didn't know how to be challenged.

Who said that quote? It's a pretty arrogant thing to say.

Moorabbin Rams upset minor premiers Melbourne to take the Dewar Shield 30-24 on a wet and windy day in Box Hill. In an entertaining match up played in trying conditions the Rams ran out winners, four tries to two. The game started slowly as both sides concentrated on ball security in the opening exchanges. I don't think one can overstate how much of an upset this is, Melbourne were rampid favouties.

They won 2s and 3s, didn't lose a game all year, and won the last two (or was it 3?) grand finals.

Great write-up.

Melbourne's forwards were completely dominated.

Agreed, colts was a great game.

Awesome to hear, Moorabbin were building nicely and had done their homework by the sounds of it, but when you play the same model for 2 season people will catch on. Apart from the number 7, the Melbourne pack is all talk and little action, survive on the backs getting them over the gain line to cut their workrate.

Eh, I don't understand the Melb hate. They don't have any more resources then Quins and they do a lot better.

They're more than just dollars, though obviously that's a primary factor.

Surely that comment typifies why the rest of Vic rugby hates them....that and every comp has to have a team like that!
