I fowarded my list to Rod Macqueen in an attempt to help him realise how many Aussies there are overseas; the RUPA list is woefully incomplete and out of date. Here's hoping.

Just saying that his strike may have been more effective if the Reds were 2 from 2 and the Tahs 0 from 2. Fact is that the Tahs beat us, while playing poorly. They are still a good team, and one of the best forward packs in the comp.

Although I understand Noddy being riled by NTA over a few threads.

The majority of our problems stem from our junior structures and club system. The game's stakeholders need to come together and redress our woefully inadequate junior system (players getting to super rugby being unable to catch and pass or perform the minimum requirements of their position is unacceptable in my book) and integration with the schools. GPS shouldn't be the only road to a S14 jersey. With smart rugby (though I agree it is safe) their is no contact until about 10? years of age, only tip footy. Compare this to league where they have full contact form 7yrs of age and of course you are going to lose kids.

I would like to see our system changed in 2 ways.
1. Change from age grade teams to the old style of weight based teams (this was done up until the mid-70s). This way players will be same weight, though tall stringbeans will be playing alongside short fat kids and hopefully fast average sized kids. With this system hopefully coaches can spend more time on developing technique rather than the old - give it to the biggest / fastest kid and let him run that happens quite often now (which helps no-one).

2. Change the set up so that from age 7 -9 (or average weight for those ages) play 7's rugby (modified slightly). The main skillsets taught at this age is breakdown technique and catch and pass. 10-12 will play 10 a side, the same skills would still be taught (at a slightly higher level) as well as basic lineouts and scrummaging. From age 13 up they would play U19 rules but technique should still be the focus. Rep and school teams could be picked on an age basis.

Bringing small rugby test matches to venues like Skilled Park, Dairy Farmers Stadium, Adelaide, even Launceston. Before RWC 2011 next year, I heard countries like Japan and Canada want to play fixtures previously in here. Just by putting them in those areas will really draw attention to the event.

Education programs which are easily transportable such as the AusKick system. The ARU should have an arm specifically working to put them in schools which do not have a tradition of playing rugby.

Speaking of Auskick, when I was last in NZ, I visited North harbour Stadium, and there was a guy there with an AFL shirt on, on the sleeve of the shirt was a logo for Kiwi Kick...

They are not sitting idle, nor should Rugby.

There is no decent development infrastructure.

This actually has little bearing on this discussion, I just want you all to feel sorry for Canada.
