^^^ It is good to see that leagueunlimited website is about as reliable as the new Super Dooper ARU mandated Rugby Link competition management system for getting player stats.:)

I know that Fivekick have had a Schools (U18) SOO game before the main SOO match each year, and sometimes there is a U16 SOO on the undercard as well. Do they have an SOO game for U20's leading in to selection into an Australian U20 team, or are the U20's mainly playing for a NRL contract?

Interesting that Cheika and Thompson want to see the lad in question playing Rugby. It must be only a matter of time before we see him in Myrtle Green running around on Coogee Oval, alongside Kellaway, Horwitz, Deegan and Hutchison. Cheika seems to have a keen eye for previously "unheralded" talent, and what Cheika wants, Cheika gets. Good luck to the lad, but remember that parking is a bugger around Coogee oval and Latham Park, and public transport is a bit hit and miss to get to games and training for the Gallopers.

Looking at their roster, there are some fairly talented athletes in the Chooks U20 team, and it was probably a good coup for them to steal a boy from the beaches from the clutches of the Manly Club.

I agree, the Manly club is in turmoil. Problems with the Board, players leaving, can't get players. Hearing that players aren't even getting paid properly, they never have looked after their juniors compared to other clubs. Toovey might be on the outta as well

I did hear from someone in the know that Roosters have changed their policy to buying the cream, they have gone to "top shelf" junior superstars and patient to wait until they are ready for 1sts

Interesting the Manly u20s coach David Heath is a teacher at St Aloysius.

Chooks missed out on getting Angus Crichton's signature. Bunnies poached him even though Angus was in the Chooks SG Ball team while still at School.

By all accounts he is a top shelf recruit for both codes.

The U16 SOO and U18 SOO games played before main SOO arent schools team. They are selected from the U16 Harold Matthews and U18 SGBall Competitions. Neither of these teams then have further selection that is left to the Schools system, with their championships a week either side of the national rugby Championships in July. The 18 go on to play while the 15s pick a merit team. There has been a 20s SOO for the past few years played on the weekend of the ANZAC test although this year it will be played before SOO 3. The 20s players can be selected for the Jnr Kagaroos to play Jnr Kiwis which has now moved from end of year to the ANZAC test weekend.

Interestingly Manly sit atop the table in 20s suffering their first loss on the weekend. Roosters on the other hand after a serious 48-6 loss on the weekend sit one win from the bottom of the table. They have been very inconsistent winning big against cronulla but losing also heavily 53-14 against the Cowboys.
Maybe the roosters have something for the ex schoolboy union players despite losing Chrichton they have already Taane Milne in the team and recruited Taylor and Joey Lussick.

Sam Gerry-Burgess is still with Bulldogs in the Car Makers Cup. He will be looking for a NRL contract for 2015 or will he be coming back to Rugby?

Arthur Currie (St Gregs-ISA, NSW 2) is with Roosters in the Car Makers Cup.

Sam G-B is listed as a run on centre for Wicks 2nd Grade against Penrith.
Guess that answers the question above.

There appears to be an Arthur Currie listed on the Eastwood team Sheets on Rugby Link for Grade 2, 3 and 4 for this season.

Is this the Arthur Currie that was playing Loig with the Chooks in the Car Makers Cup last year?
