Under 20s Australia v Argentina

Tough watch that one. Scrum issues aplenty, but Ata at hooker best for Australia. Wilcox, Grover and Harvey good also in the backs. Fair play to Doyle - played every minute of every game. Rock solid again all day. Best Australian player on this tour, arguably player of the whole tournament. Lots of scrum and maul defence issues to fix in the next month. Will Goddard being injured really biting now.

I know the purpose is RWC preparation, but felt very disjointed with all the subs. Shame to see Dillon get replaced so early. I know it became very forward focussed, but I liked his control early in the match.

I thought Harvey made far too many errors, missed touch with a penalty kick, missed tackles and very half hearted tackle attempts near the tryline. Grover to my mind is just too small to be effective against players at this level. The Argentine No 13 was massive in size and performance. Doyle and Ata best for the Aussies, while Wilcox had one of his better games.

Trevor King at LHP just didn't work at all. Was Baxter injured? I am not impressed with some of the selections and with the coaching overall. Most of the franchise U20s sides played better than the Aus U20s side. Still, undefeated in the tournament is not to be sneezed at.

I quite like Wilcox on the wing, less to think about. At fullback he seemed to a bit overawed.

Great competition from the Joeys, to go undefeated should be acknowledged.

Grover is on the smaller side but I thought he was one of our best.

Super teams would play better because they've been together longer. The front row we rolled out is probably the best one we have with 2 Brisbane props playing in France and Goddard injured.

He's a Winger with added skill set of a Fullback which is a huge asset to a team. This happens to a lot of pros when they go to the next level.

Harvey had a couple moments he'd like back but he can open up the field for others and he'll be a lot better for the games having spent so much time with the 7s program to start the year.

Many come from School & Club combinations which helps. The game is also slower as you do have players who sneak into the 19s sides but aren't going to go further.

Great result for the squad and coaches. Doesn't look like a side that will be wrecked if 1 or 2 injuries arise come the WC. If Goldsbrough, Pakeho available it will further strengthen them.
