"I so disagree with these players not touring with the 20s. And that goes for Stewart and Valetini too."
Why Reg?
All young rugby players identify Super rugby as the higher echelon in ones rugby pathway than U20's. You cant judge them because they are good enough to play at that level. "A coach once said "if youre good enough youre old enough".

Sikimeti a specialist back row.

Rate him very highly. Don't know if he has played much 2nd row & and may be lacking height.

Margin and Brown both real contenders.

My question was who is Wood?

I take it these players are all contracted and have no say in it.

Even though the opportunity to play Aus U20 probably a very much higher honor than being in the squad or at best bench for a loosing Sup side.

Hasn’t Wood had some time on the 7s circuit this year? Same guy? Very fast if I’m thinking of the same guy.

You would think so HB. If your Super rugby employer believes your'e the best fit for their team. then its a no brainer in the best interest of your professional career to play super rugby and therefore open the opportunity to push yourself for the ultimate honor of the chance to be picked to one day play for your country at the highest level. The Wallabies!!

Refer to Mr Thompson for that one.no idea
Once again the Gilmore/ Thompson selection panel has picked a player from their Qld squad above all those deserving NSW players that are fit, available and playing good football. These two are an absolute disgrace and instead of developing our top National rugby players are promoting second tier players from Qld. This guy is a third tier player who wasn’t even named in the 52 man initial squad and has not attended any of the first three camps. He was not named in any Oceania teams but has leapfrogged the boys who attended all camps, who played games and have worked their arses off for an opportunity. The coaches from the other states need to stand up for the players that are in their programs. Whoever is running the ARU needs to ensure that these two are never given power as it has obviously resulted in arrogant disregard for the players, the process and our National team

he's also started most of the season in the backrow for Brothers in Premier Grade. Ironically alongside Harry Wilson who is playing very well.

Thanks Reg for the information on Wood.

Looks like he played breakaway at school but moved to Lock. Usually they go the other way.

Good luck to him.

There are some on this site didn't rate Hockings. So maybe we are better off. Hopefully he has a fair bit of mongrel in him and half handy at set piece.

Played lock at school and has been starting there all season for Brothers. Has previously had issues with over aggression (haven't seen a naturally agro character like him for a while). Plays strong and tough and I'm excited to see what he can do.

"knock on Wood", he stays healthy and remain aggressive filling the 'dark spots' void, required to win close games. Something the kiwis have mastered.
