Bulles v Blues was the battle of the idiots. Fucking hell there were some crayfish moments in that game, and the ref didn't even make the top 20.

Coupla injury problems for Tribe: Angus Ta'avoa's supposed knee injury turns out to be a torn quad, he's gone for ~12 weeks & Luke Jacobsen's hammy will keep him out for at least a few.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby...d-luke-jacobson-set-for-more-time-on-sideline

On the subject of Tribe they had Sam Cane on the Breakdown last night & he pretty much admitted what I think we all saw on Saturday night: Tribe expected Brums to play narrow & had no answer when they got on the outside of a compressed D. Perfectly summed up by the attacking lineout where you just knew Brums would drive..... but didn't. Worrying that it took a half-time rev-up from Gats to get the D better organised rather than "the leadership group" working it out by quarter time & making the necessary changes.

On the subject of the Breakdown they've got a new video analyst, goes by the name of Glen Jackson & he looked like the proverbial possum in the proverbial headlights & even if/ when he gets past the nerves let's just say the guys at 1014 Rugby haven't got too much to worry about competition-wise.

Nic Mayhew was starting to look quality when he left the Brumbies to return to NZ. Will be of interest to see how he's going right now.

Nock finally starting is a significant improvement, if only for the fact that he isn't Ruru.

Though I'm not sure about the strategy of playing a wing at centre, and a centre on the wing. Feels like Occam needs to cut a bitch with his razor until MacDonald puts them in their actual positions.

Get used to more of it. Rieko wants to play 13 and Leon is happy to accommodate (in order to keep him at the franchise I imagine).

Canes: 6 million
Swolves: less.

Laumape and Aso work so well together. Hope fat guts Fozzie gives Lumpers a chance instead of just lazily pencilling in the tenure-tracked Goodhue and ALB

Poor Horan's boy didnt put a foot wrong but bugger being a last-line speedbump vs Laumape and Lam on your debut.

Nice fun 37-try afternoon fuck-around for the Canes. The sort of game where even birdbrained Ffsffita looks like goliath on stilts.Canes supped a bit deep from the polynesian b-ball horn but who gives a shit, its only the Sunwolves, its not like theyre a team that mean anything to each other anymore anyway. They're like the photograph in Back to the Future with limbs visibly fading from view right before our eyes.

Well well well...

Blues put Nock at 9 and ditch handbrake Ruru (which Blues fans have been calling for forever) and look what happens - they smash the only previously remaining undefeated team in the comp at their fortress.

Rieko was probably the worst of the Blues. Everyone else played really well and surprisingly they actually were clinical and smart in their option taking. For once for the Blues the positions of 2, 8, 9, 10, 15 really delivered.

Sad day for SA.

Stumpies outplayed and outmatched. Calves outplayed and outmatched.

Blues have a weird record going this season. Winning overseas and all but losing at home.
