Thought Robinson was bludging too much in general play to throw him a vote. Palu came close to getting a vote, despite playing 25-30 minutes - he was fabulous. Mortlock the only back who wasn't completely and utterly shithouse (Giteau's goal kicking notwhistanding).

The whole pack played pretty well though.

Hines made some very good covering tackles. Mortlock was strong. Backs didnt really have much fluency. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has to be moved from 15.

Great stuff Oz. Great bloody stuff.

3 McMeninan - really set the standard in that first half. A pile of work.

2 Moore - the centre piece of that tight 5 performance.

1 Robinson - our best scrummager since Topo?

Also damn good were Morty (in the 2nd half), Burgess, Gits, Palu, Mumm, Sharpe and Al.

Top stuff.

3 Moore - just because of the criticism they copped this week and his lineout work
2 McMenimen - hard a fantastic work rate
1 Hynes - his cover defence and strong tackles were great to watch

1. Sharpe. For playing like a second rower and showing some mongrel

3. Sharpe - his best game in donkeys. Finally playing like a lock - amazing what dropping a player can achieve!
2. Moore - greatin the set piece and a good workrate to match.
1. Baxter - Kept Sheridan quiet at scrum time all night and had a huge workrate around the park.

For all the crap that's been piled on him the last few years, how could anyone go past Al Baxter? His work in the tight was exemplary. Good game notwithstanding we desparately need a backup THP.

The tight five were magnificent. The team's defence, especially when England went past three or four phases, was outstanding. They're starting to look like one of Muggleton's teams in defence, which they haven't previously this year. In fact there were times when Australia looked liked they enjoyed the Poms having the pill so they could belt shit out of them in defence.

The Poms' scrum leading up to their try? We'll have to take up a collection to buy Jonker a geometry set: it went through 90 all the way to 180.

We'd better givecredit to fleet street as well for the motivational impact they've had on our tight 5. Well played those boys!

It takes real guts to comeback & bash a bloke who has bullied yourself & your mates. He gave Sheridan a real lesson in determination.

2.Benn Robinson
Not only the scrum but his one on one defence was superb, really rung some English bells last night.

1.MMM
Tough one as Sharpie, Moore & Chislom all played well but MMM with a couple of pilfers & a lot of defence did the dirty work he doesn't usually get credit for. Would have like to have seen him carry the ball more often but for some reason Burgess kept picking out Smith.

Special mention for all the forwards especially Mumm & Palu who really got us home, it helps to have a bench you can go to late on,something that was missing in Brisbane & Honkers.
