Lindo did you see Griffith Uni is doing a study as to why Wagga produces so many outstanding sports people?

I recently sent L a pm suggesting he make a list of outstanding sportsmen from Wagga and put it up here for us all to discuss. Modesty forbade :)

Any possibility of getting such a list from Griffith Uni?

Starting point: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_notable_people_from_Wagga_Wagga,_New_South_Wales

They left out Arthur Summons and Nathan Sharpe.

# Tony Roche (Tennis player)[2]
# Adam Schneider (Australian rules footballer)
# Nathan Sharpe (Rugby Union footballer)
# Michael Slater (Cricketer)[2]
# Jamie Soward St George Illawarra Dragons Halfback/five eight
# Peter Sterling (Rugby League footballer & TV presenter/sports commentator)[2]

And no, that page has not edited for 2.5 months.

BTW, forgotten Sterling was raised there. Always remember him as a Parramatta boy born and bred, which is wrong. That just reminded that Sterling is Queensland born.

Digression coming: One of the first rugby forums I lurked on a few years back was mostly Tahs supporters who worshipped Brett Kenny and throught that Wally "The King" Lewis was useless. They considered it a travesty and a Queensland conspiracy that Lewis got selected over Kenny as the Australian 5/8 and Kenny was shunted to the centres or missed out. They also considered Chris Latham useless, too.

Care to re-think and re-write that?

Hmmm, should've read "thought", not "throught". Kenny was selected over Lewis for a few tests in '82, which was surprising, but when Lewis played Kenny was in the centres. But Biffo; you saying you agree with them about Kenny? Or do you have some other gripe? (It was somewhat coincidental that the Tahs supporters also followed league on and off, but anyway.)

Maaa-aa-a-yte, no real Tah supporter gives or ever gave a stuff about mungoball. I was implying that you should have written that you had read of some NSW mungoball supporters who thought ... ... and ... about Lewis and Kenny (BTW who are/were they?) who also claimed to support the Tahs. :)
