That statement just shows you missed the point of that discription

Don't be like that baby i can change?

At one stage, I actually took interest in your posts. Which team will you be supporting this year? I hope it is not the Red team.

OK, i think we are all just little upset cause I said quirk won't get contract renewal andhe is easts golden son.

It's not a slight on him i just don't think he has done that much to be banging on the door for one and i can't see his game furthering much from where it is. Maybe at another franchise or in another comp it could (which is likely if you look at history)

So if i was the reds i would let Mr. Quirk go out into the world on his own as it would hardly be worthwhile for the team or ed to sign him for another 3 years so he can sit bench and or play club rugby.

IF he is indeed goign to develop further he needs to start getting more than 15 minutes a week and i can't see that happening in Brisbane.

now tranquility let's go back to being comrades in red arms??

couldnt find anything....it will be interesting to see how they cover the loss of sonny bill and taumalolo who where two of their biggest offensive threats. I personally can't see the chiefs making th efinal let alone going back to back. I think NZ teams to watch are the Highlanders and the hurricanes i am tipping for surprise packet for this year their backline will be another year older and wiser and have way to much fire power to be at the foot of the table but they lack forward pack edge the better teams

With you there, tipping the Chiefs and Crusaders to come 4th and 5th in the NZ conference. Got the Canes first and either Blues/Highlanders second.

Quirk is just hitting an age group where he has the required physicality to perform at super rugby level, Browning will likely replace Samo in 2014 and someone else will potentially replace McDuling, thats more likely to be a lock though.

Nigel Ah Wong hasn't convinced me that he is any better then Quirk just yet, i guess we will just have to wait to see how the season pans out.

Reading now that Ed O'Donohue & Horwill are likely starters along with Ben Daley and S.Finger. The talk is that A.Finger will likely miss one week and that Lance will also start at 10. Our starting XV could look something like:

1. Anae
2. Fainga'a
3. Daley
4. O'Donohue/AWH
5. Horwill
6. Quirk
7. Gill
8. Samo
9. Lucas
10. Lance
11. Ioane
12. Tapaui
13. Morahan??
14. Shipperley
15. Harris

16. Slipper
17. Holmes
18. Hansen
19. Schatz
20. O'Donohue/AWH
21. Browning/Ah Wong
22. Frisby
23. Toua

*Disclaimer - I know less than nothing about the positions 1 & 3 so have likely got two THP's or two LHP's there. If I have by some miracle picked one of each I probably have them in the wrong number jersey. Just sayin.

I'd say they will carry a much bigger bench as they did in Toowoomba but you would think they will be trying to get as close to the First XV starting as they can since this is the last hit out.

Scoey,
That was a bit unfortunate that the team announcement appears immediately after your selection pick.

Saia needs to stand up and be accounted for this weekend as Hanson isn't just banging on the door to start he is ripping the door off his hinges and crushing it

In relation to Quirk I think there was a lot of hype around him when he came out of school and played so well for Easts. He was far more developed than any of the others mentioned here at that stage. He hasn't come on as I had hoped but I'm not sure that Ah Wong or Browning are a better bet at this stage. It will be interesting to see how they all develop as the year progresses. 1 or 2 of them will have to go somewhere else in 2014 you would have to think.

Back to the game and I think it will be a great opportunity for Lance to show his ability at 10. I think he might also get a few runs this year and will be a valuable member of the squad especially with Lucas playing 9.

I for the life of me can't see Blues being anything but 4-5 in NZ, though I not sure who I pick to win, I think Chiefs will still be in top 2, they still got a good squad, and probably one fo best coaching outfits in S15

The Kiwi conference is definitely the most intriguing and at the moment its a bit hard to tell which will rise to the top, and which will flounder. Few would have picked the Canes to be so competitive last year. Seeing the Blues capitulate so badly was also surprisingly looking at their team on paper. So I'm going to have to sit on the fence until I get a chance to see these teams in action against each other. The Canes definitely seem like a team on the rise but one has to wonder whether they're less likely to catch teams unaware this year. The Highlanders have recruited well. They've fallen off the pace late in the last two seasons but I'm hoping theyll make the finals this year.

I'd love to see the Highlanders have a good year! I assume TJ Peranara (spelling??) will be back by now. He was missed at the back end of last season also and they only missed out on a finals shot by a very small margin.

I read that he has only 'rolled his ankle'. Hopefully they are just being over cautious and that's as sinister as it is.

My wife and I are heading up from Brisbane for tomorrow's game and I read that there is no parking at the event. Does anyone familiar with stockland stadium have some good ideas about methods of getting to the game?

My wife and I are doing the same. I didn't know anything about that Gel. I was going to look into parking etc tomorrow at work. Glad you're organised!

Quite a few on here went to the Reds vs Canes friendly at Stocklands in the June Test window last year so someone should be able to give some good info.
