I hope they don't celebrate too early, as surely it won't be too hard to find another person that's as myopic as Dempsey as a replacement.

Dempsey will continue to act as a consultant for RUPA as the body renegotiates a new agreement with the Australian Rugby Union.

I reckon the new boss will just be Tony Dempsey's bitch.

Is it all possible that the players might realise they don't actually need a person in Dempsey's former position - to use a NAZZA idiom - 'PFKABOR'

Word on the journalist street is that he got a firm nudge to fark off.

My source also speculated that he might go for the Melbourne CEO job!

Over JO'Ns dead body.

I wonder if Mortlock assisted with the nudge. He was seriously pissed off over the Tuquiri incident and Dempey's comments at the time.

If Morty can get TD the boot after his indiscretion can someone whisper "O'Brien" in his ear.

I agree with kearnsey - what the fuck IS he talking about?

And while we're on the topic - where the fuck did Dempsey come from anyway? What is his link to the rugby world in the first place that got him the job?

Former player with a law degree. Think he may have laced on the boots for NSW at some stage.

Played for Gordon, the Waratahs and might have even had a few non test games for the Wallabies. He played in the days where players had a career and his was as a lawyer. Handy flanker and in the right place at the right time when a players association was needed. To be fair to him, I think he did a very good job in the early days when the players would otherwise have been under represented. Later he became too extreme and too political.

Riverview/Tahs minor player/Wallabies tour squad minor minor player = useless.
Lawyer = = useless.

This mediocrity in our rugby family is exactly what JON is trying to eradicate.

Well, I'm pretty sure he reached a higher level than any of us, not counting your own spell as a Tah, Lindo (albeit a Waggatah). Bit harsh to label him useless for that.
Lawyering though...that's tar and feather stuff!

He sounds like a shit lawyer too I must say and I'm hardly drawing a long bow there. Dennis Denuto could whip him.
