The player of the round thing is just a man of the match for each team.

You might notice that George Smith was the 7 in the Australian team of the week.

Ahhhhhhh I completely missed this post. I didn't realise it was per team but now I do. Thanks all for your good work.

Sharks have played Cheetahs, Stormers, Kings, Brumbies

Force have played Rebels, Kings, Bulls, Reds

Sharks played the Kings at home and the Stormers match was played incredibly poorly by both sides. Force also had to travel early and were the first team in the competition to ever play the Kings, who have turned out to be much better than anyone anticipated. Steyn is fat and playing badly, Lambie hasn't exactly lit the world on fire (but his kicking is the only thing keeping the Sharks in the comp right now), and they are in the middle of a nasty injury run throughout the squad. The Force have been steadily improving so far this year. Sharks have scored 3 tries in 4 games, Force have scored 8 in 4 games. The Force have also not played a single home game so far this year and have been on the road for the entirety of the competition, this works to balance out the Sharks somewhat more difficult schedule so far as the Sharks have played 2/4 of their games at home (Stormers and Brumbies). Force have allowed 9 tries to the Sharks 7, not exactly impressive considering that they have played two of the worst attacking sides in the competition so far. If they were that much better than the Force surely there would be more separating them than two tries? Especially when you consider the Force have been traveling this entire time and have scored 5 more tries than the Sharks so far? Also don't feed me anything about the Stormers defense, it isn't that good this year and the Chiefs proved it by putting 4 tries in on them.

I can't find tackle % stats right now but the bottom line is with the way both teams are playing and the injuries the Sharks have right now there is not nearly as much separating those two teams as you believe there is.
