From all accounts, the accident would have happened no matter what vehicle he was driving.

But on the plus side, the grandfather has come out saying they expect a full recovery without surgery!

Glad to read the kid's now pulling through...having kids myself and despite even having been few not as major crises with them, I still can't imagine how his parents have been going through...so some good news would be so welcoming...

I thought there was a fair chance Sam was going to die, to be honest

I think the very fact that Sam's recovered and showed such positive steps since Saturday morning has helped me

Great stuff. I'm so pleased for the Cannon family. Had a bit of dust in my eyes watching the press conference; Canno is going to take some time to shake this even though he clearly dodged a bullet.

If I was young Sam, I'd be gathering a scrap book of news clippings and using that as a lever whenever I wanted something from Dad in the future.....
