Can we get a poll to name the group please? Options:
- Troupe or Troupe 23?
- The Nobodies
- The Macropod
- The Vault

Is there any chance of getting an established supporters 'brand' involved? Thinking of the Fanatics here. They were great at the golf, it's a great name and already have a degree of acceptance/support in the sporting community.

It's rather a question of control.

To be honest, I think some of their support is rather shit.

Good if you want to do "Lets go Wallabies, lets go, clap clap"

Fair enough. My point is they have a level of recognition in the Australian sporting landscape that is hard to establish from scratch.

Fair point, but so does the Collingwood Cheer Squad. This is by Rugby supporters, for Rugby supporters.

you are surely taking the piss......... The fanatics are an complete embarrassment to this nation with their crap support and bogan tennis crowd. they all hype themselves up about socceroos games, reserve all the supporter bay tickets and then sit there in dead silence and get angry at people for standing up in supporter bays and making noise. They gave Australian supporters a bad name in south africa and during the ashes in england and you wouldn't be seen dead associating with them.

I did not just hype myself up for this to be stuck with fucking chants like 'Lets go wallabies, let's go CLAP CLAP'

Well shit, sorry for raising it mate.

I didn't realise they were so poorly thought of in the cheer squad community. I do know the media love them, and they were really funny at the golf and got a lot of positive coverage both here and also in the US. But I apologise if I was mistaken.

I quite like this idea from an operational standpoint. Regardless of your opinion of the Fanatics on game day (my own is mixed but not entirely negative, really depends on the group) they have created the type of organisation we need to emulate, where one of any number of people has the tools to organise an event and people flock to it.

I had planned to shoot a few emails to them for advice on some areas. And hey, if we can be their go-to group for union (done our way of course) then that's a win.

As an aside, can we please refrain from outwardly trashing ideas at this point? We're trying to do something pretty big so everyone who has an idea should be able to have it heard. If you don't agree then fine, but state your point and move on.

And now I shall stop trying to be a mod.

A group or congregation of wallabies is called a "court," "mob," or "troup".

I would just like to say that this whole thing has me revved up!

I just had an image of the Gold Army wrestling it out with the British & Irish Lions supporters for crowd chanting dominance!!

Sends shivers down the spine
