On Carter - good on him. Yes try to exert your dominance over your opposition. We play a physically and psychologically confronting sport. If you dont like it go play soccer. Likewise accept the sledge that comes back when you dont quite win. I have not heard any reports to say that Carter has spat the dummy after what has arisen since the game finished. (Happy to be corrected here)
On Ioane making the sledge public - good on him too. He didnt get the opportunity to demonstrate his dominance during the game. So fair's fair.
We are long past the days of "what happens on the field gets left on the field". The judicial and media scrutiny ensures that we relive the game for at least the next week if not the whole sason and longer. And this issue will be raised over and over again all the way to the final round.
This issue of Carter's sledge has been great, it fills newspaper columns day in day out. It gives our code exposure when it is struggling against the NRL/AFL machines that have dominated coverage this week in both Brisbane and Sydney. If this the most negative publicity that the code gets all year then lets have more this week.
Let's not sanitise our players so much that the only coverage they get is in the social columns for the charity work that they have been doing.

Jeez Bruce, I think your issue this week is more with some of the Reds players than the keyboard warriors.
It is not common for players to publicly make negative comments on their opponents, especially if they have won the game.

I have no problem with what has gone on, but jeez when has this turned into a NSW v QLD bullshit argument..
This isn't limited to QLD, people from NSW are just as guilty, Higginbothams actions last years been a perfect example where a players actions on the fields has lead to his character been questioned off the field.
Or we can look to the international arena where players like Bakkies Botha and Ali Williams have caused Wallaby fans on here to say some rather nasty things.
I have no problem in exchanging banter on the field. A psychological advantage can be just as important as a physical advantage in the game of rugby, its all part of the game. The worst thing Carter did was to call McKibbon for the kick and then fall over in the chase for the loose ball. Not good enough to end up out of the play when it had specifically been set up for him. My opinion is that his collision with the reds player was avoidable.
Furthermore, if he wasn't such a talisman for the Tahs then McKibbon may not have put the kick in. There could have been an element of the junior player going against his instincts because the senior player has called the move.

Carter is the best 12 in Australia. Tonight he dominated JOC (James O'Connor) in class, effectiveness and workrate, yet the average fan will focus on Carter's rare mistakes and ignore JOC (James O'Connor)'s many.
Carter outplays his opponents 99% of the time but many of the comments on this site relate to his personality, hairstyle, celebrations and even his speech patterns.
