The rugby world cup; ranking versus other events

I'm sure we all know that the RWC is the third largest world event, however, i need proof of this, to see if i'm right or wrong.

looking for numbers and numbers of other comparable events which have claimed this title before including

Cricket World Cup
Americas cup
formula one
tour de france
superbowl

The Euro Football Event certainly attracts plenty of tourism and media attention, as well as huge television audiences.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sports_attendance_figures More stats than you can poke a stick at. Just looked at it a bit more - apparently the Six Nations has the highest average attendance for a tournament.

doesnt really answer my question though. it doesnt have viewership audiences or anythign mainly focuses on domestic events.
