Top 5 players as in 1st year players or just top 5 players in the comp?

Because if you mean the whole comp then I could probably rattle off 10 players right now that will have a bigger impact on who's wins the title this year.

Agreed.

1: Wycliff Palu
2: Berrick Barnes
3: Kurtley Beale
4: Morne Steyn
5: Victor Matfeild
6: Pierre Spies
7: Heinrich Brussow
8: Quade Cooper
9: Will Genia
10: Dan Carter

then you get the McCaws, Pococks, JOCs, AACs, Waughs etc....

I think Robbie Coleman of the Brumbies and Lima Sopoanga of the Highlanders have to be added to the list of new faces to watch in 2011, after Rd 1.

Ruggo

Kerr-Barlow also. I don't no what he was listed as but I have always known him as Nerrada.

Brumbies Guy

John Solomon (38)
Nic White at halfback for the Brumbies will be one to watch. Should get a crack mid season.

White, To'omua and Coleman have built a great combination together over the years (club games,U20s,Runners) so it will be good to see them on the park together at Super 15 level at some stage this year ahead of next season now that To'omua and Coleman have established themselves.

Agree with White. He looked impressive for the 20's. Also Kerr-Barlow, that individual try was a beauty. Isn't he an NT boy Ruggo?

Does anyone know how Julian Savea went on the weekend? He's being touted as the next Jonah Lomu over in NZ.

Yeah Speccy, he grew up in Darwin and played his junior rugby for our club before going off to bording school in NZ. He always wanted to be an All Black but I think he is Australian born. I remember when he was shitting in nappies so I would be suprised if he isn't. He eat, shitted and breathed rugby as a chid and I am not suprised he has reached the level he is at.

I honestly believe that the big one to watch this year is Sonny Bill Williams, I think he will be amongst the top 5 players in the competition. To suggest that he won't is just silly.

SBW is going along pretty nicely at the moment having scored 2 try's from his 2 games so far this season, and had to pull out some magic to score them. He has set up about 3 try's just for fun.

He made AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Horne look pretty silly 2 weeks in a row. Watch this space...
