Haha who would this even disqualify?
All the reporting is that he will if they make him a serious offer:I just don't realistically seeing McKellar leave the Tigers less than a year in
Yeah, get rid of that one. Hang around enough Clubs and meet the best coaches. A lot will have what you categorise as 'Bogan tendencies' normal people that have worked normal jobs and played a lot of footy. We would never want someone like that...Haha who would this even disqualify?
He's gone man, let it goIt would have disqualified Eddie.
He's been gone less than a day lol. He's gone man, let it go
Criteria
-Under 65 years old
- 60% winning record
- Honest
- Not egotistical
- Not a bogan
- Ideally a performance based contract
I said ideally. I don't see what's wrong with adding in a bonus if we win the world cup/ lions tour etc. What type of person whose worked hard to create a successful record for themselves already would take on a job with explicit performance based returns (other than your stock standard bonuses) without creating insane financial incentives?
Yeah, god forbid they actually employ a fair and robust selection process! It doesn't sound like he'll engage in a protracted interview process though, which may rule him out.
O'Gara has won two European Cups and been to three finals. Is the head coach of what is probably one of the three best club sides in the world. He is also one of the only foreigners I've ever seen allowed into the Crusaders (who are a pretty good judge of talent). Where he won another two titles. Bernie has never won a trophy as a coach.I don't see why Ronan O'Gara has any more proven success than Bernie. Both unproven at test level, both have successes with two great squads.
O'Gara also turned down international assistant jobs a couple of years ago because he wasn't ready. I think he will end up coaching France, I don't think he will want the added pressures of coaching Munster or Ireland.O'Gara has won two European Cups and been to three finals. He has also done more to modernise defensive tactics than any coach since Shaun Edwards.
Brad Thorn lol, please wake me up and tell me I'm dreaming. 45% win record, got some decent results during COVID and then the team started to go backwards. What has he shown you that makes you think he'd be the path forward for the Wallabies.
Let's show slightly more ambition. Frans Ludeke is a much more interesting hire. We do not need to hire a Super Rugby coach for crying out loud, its a big world. Perhaps a coach who has been at more than one club would be a decent idea.
Yep I am inclined to agree on O'Gara. Also think the La Rochelle salary probably makes it pretty easy to turn down international job till one comes along he really wants.O'Gara also turned down international assistant jobs a couple of years ago because he wasn't ready. Leo Cullen (I hate Leinster with a passion) wouldn't be a bad get, he signs on year to year and does not have any ego. Is known for his organizational skills and drawing the best out of all his assistants.
Joseph has been a failure for Japan, they've regressed. If Eddie Jones becomes the Japanese coach we could get Joseph.
