In the final instalment of the Eric Tweedale interview, Eric recaps his career while discussing his memorabilia with club stalwart Peter Thompson and once again demonstrates his amazing memory and recollection of detail. Of particular interest is his description of the running rugby oriented 1947-48 Wallabies side that toured Britain, Ireland, France, Canada and the USA without a recognised goalkicker in the squad. Rod Cutler to coach the Two Blues? Nothing on the Club website yet but I hear it's on. If so he's a great get. Rod has spent the past two seasons coaching Sydney Uni Women and of course previously coached the Manly Marlins among other gigs.

A quality bloke who knows his rugby.

Bruce, I understand we can expect an announcement of the coaching staff soon. I have no idea whether your information is correct but if it is (and I suspect you have a very good source), I'm happy - the Uni women's team appeared to be well coached.

Looking forward to the press release but I can't help thinking that Gerrard Fasavalu himself is likely to prove to be the biggest of those "gets" - I've had the pleasure of chatting with him a couple of times so far and I am happy to report that Gerrard is a particularly impressive and intelligent young man. It's good to hear these rumours that his support staff will be so highly credentialled. Can't wait for 2014.

The Thommo interviews continue - the latest interviewee is Two Blues living legend Frank Lawson. Frank is 89 and maintains the fields at Merrylands RSL Club Rugby Park in a voluntary capacity. He is one of Rugby's true gentlemen. In the first episode of the interview, Frank discusses his Rugby career playing for Petersham, Wests and Gordon (playing alongside such notables as Brian Bevan and Trevor Allen) before joining Parramatta where, amongst other career highlights, he helped establish Parramatta Colts. Now available on the Two Blues website.

The second episode of the Frank Lawson interviews has now been published on the Two Blues website. Frank and Peter Thompson talk about the glory days of the 1970s and 1980s with particular focus on characters such as Peter "Fab" Fenton, Mick Martin, Martin Knight, Neil Catt and Ray Price.
