Applying Occam's razor.....

1) Gladiator thinks Gits is a good 10
2) AFAIK, the only one in the universe that thinks Gits is a good 10 is Gits, though I may have to broaden that to Bernie and a Bundaberg born League player/coach.

The hypothesis that makes the fewest new assumptions is that Gladiator is Gits.

The wacky baccy is an assumption thrown in for colour, but is not really necessary. Both Gits' performance and the novel construction of gladiator's post require no further explanation.
