I agree with most of that, but I would probably have AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at fullback. Interesting that no saffers made your team, they had a very poor tour.

There must be other wingers in the queue in front of Hynes. Considering we know what he's capable of I think he's either suffering from a lack of motivation or opportunity, injured or bludging. You can do better than that, Peter.

I cannot believe, Chief, that you had Chabal and Hynes in your team. I'd have either of the AB wings ahead of Hynes and pretty much any international lock (including Horwill  ) ahead of the Caveman.

I also have no idea how you could possibly have Pocock ahead of either McCaw or Brussouw.

Junior how about you read the title of the topic, then I'm sure you'll understand. We are not talking about Team of the Spring tour. Not the team of reputation.

As for Hynes he was consistent. He was never a huge sensation. But he always played a great game. He'd defend, get involved. Just because he wasn't playing like the 'traditionalist' winger like Sivivatu.

7 is always going to be contentious, because all 3 mentioned in this thread are bloody good. I'd have any of them, and on their day any could be "the best". I think Pocock has been as good as any on this tour, without the years of high performance McCaw has (obviously).

Smith in the Tri Nations actually performed better than McCaw. He constantly kept the Wallabies in the game, when they were getting annihilated.

Sivivatu or Jane ahead of Marcia any day of the week for mine... (Or even that young kid - forgotten his name...)

:'(

This is the hardest ever post I have ever written. This one post will cause me more emotional angst and long term psychological damage than any previous thoughts and submissions.

Halfback of the tour was that twat in black, Cowan.

I will now put myself on a course of self-flagellation and promise never to mention such strange and weird thinking again.

15. Mils Muliaina (New Zealand)

Other than Jane for Hynes I'd go with that team.

Pocock over McCheat anyday.

Palu over Heaslip, Cowan over Genia, plenty of wingers over Hynes, Kearney pushing Mils, Pocock and McCaw were both close. Smith was as good in the 2nd half against Wales as Pocock was in the first half. We are incredibly lucky to have to 7s at that level.

Apart from the Welsh game Palu was the standout 8. It looks like when he gets a niggly injury his form and workrate drops off dramatically, but when he has a good run without injuries he has game to be the best 8 in the world. He just needs to learn how to make more of an impact when he isn't 100%.

Palu's been good all season. Deans really cocked up by playing Smith at 8 during the middle of the year and taking all of the balance out of the Wobbler pack. No coincidence that they've barred up a lot more this tour with big Cliff taking them forward so well.

I've been astounded at some of the top 15's of the spring tour going around the message boards and media. Planet Rugby's is horriffically awful. I didn't get to watch as many games as I usually do unfortunately, but I am astounded at the amount of Aussies in most teams given a tour of 2 losses (including one to scotland) a draw and win. And then very few NZ in most, with a clean sweep, well I'm racking my brain. Certainly suggests a team of champions won't overdo a champion team?

From teh team above, I'd put Jane over Hynes and McCaw over Pocock. One because it's blatanly obvious and the second because I'm blatantly biased.

You must have been watching a different Aussie tour to the rest of us.
