Geez mate there's been a lot of good rugby from them in the last couple of seasons that I have been watching downloads. And they seem to be enjoying the ELVs.
The fight wasn't bad was it? As long as they just punch each other I don't mind too much.
Toulon haven't looked that great in the two games I have seen them play in for all the money they have spent. The owner seemed pretty miserable whatever was happening and the local fans were not happy campers knowing that Link McKenzie's Paris mob could get out of town still undefeated this season.
To be honest Stade don't look that great after seeing 3 of their games but this win was their best of the season. Winners are grinners and it's always a pleasure to watch JM Hernandez glide around doing his stuff.
Yesterday I watched a replay of an earlier game: Toulouse v Biarritz. Kelleher (or "Kill Ear" as the French commentators call him) had a blinder starting from right when he stole the pill from the base of Biarritz scrum from under the Yak's nose and ran about 60 metres to score - and bloody fast too. Surprised me.
There is not a lot of love between Kill Ear and the Yak so it must have been a sweet try. Oh yeah, he scored two others too. It's just as well Ellisalde didn't have his kicking boots on for the home team else the score would have been ugly instead of 20-6 IIRR.
I love the French commentators. I can't understand what they are saying but geez, what atmosphere they give to the game.
And talking of Kiwis playing well in Europe: what a cracker Nacewa had when he came on for Sexton for Leinster v. Edinburgh. The young bloke did OK but Nacewa took the game by the scruff of the neck. Young Sexton has a fine future but he'll have to serve an apprenticeship with guys like D'Arcy, BOD, Fitzgerald, Kearney, Horgan, Contepomi, Dempsey,Whitaker, and now Nacewa in hot form, in the backline.
Talking of Whits: I wish we still had him here. He's in great form.
There's been some good games from Europe this year but Cardiff Blues v Ulster wasn't one of them. The nutty, enjoyable BBC commentator, Rick O'Shea, said at half-time something like: "Thank goodness that's over with, now I can read out some of my entertaining text messages."
