Shame the UNSW v Petersham showdown has been spoiled.

Newport lose another home game. Things go from bad to worse. Not much better for Lindfield who now head to Boronia Park.

Why have the Irish games been “moved” to Latham? It was their home game anyway?

Ideally a club has a bunch of guys who run their own law/accounting/consulting firms who have a fuck-ton of cash and time to spend on rugby ;) Reality suggests otherwise.

I'm in the fortunate position of mostly being WFH, in a job that I have a long and fairly unique experience. It helps that I've minimised the number of meetings I'm required to attend :)

Not everyone on my Committee has this freedom, and that's true of a lot of people in Subbies land. They fit rugby in where they can and the increased cost-of-living pressures and Saturday work etc make it difficult.

I've got one offspring finishing Uni this year, and another finishing their HSC. The long-suffering Mrs Pfitzy gets her Long Service middle of next year.

I've never had a Euro summer holiday, so is it finally my turn?
I did it two years ago mate in the midst of my hiatus from rugby. Do it! itll all still be there when you get back!

Here’s some out of the box thinking for you. Given the shocking forecast for next week and the state of the grounds already do you think Subbies would make a call now to flip the wet weather round on the 30th with next week? Meaning instead of needing to replay a whole round you would only have the Waverly Lindfield game to replay and some lower grade fixtures at the other clubs.

But you can’t wait to drop that on clubs next week they have to make a call now.

If you’ve got Finals or catch up games in the lower divisions good luck…

Breakers 3rd home game washout so Thats $60k in turnover gone for the club. Given this week was last home game, band at clubhouse, sun shining, its a disaster. Now it’s yet another 90 min trip to the opposite side of Sydney & Waverley colts have forfeited. Wrap 2025 up now!

Hwavy D where do you think Newport want to be next year? Is the slog of Div 1 too much? Or has it been a Tough year with injuries etc? Would you prefer Div 2 with less demand on numbers?
Your colts are killing it this year so that may boost you next year?
If Newport want to stay I’d give them another year. Tough on Lindfield who have run 5 grades and colts all year

Sydney Harbour forfeit to Oatley??

The game was originally for Lyne Park then moved but now is cancelled according to the Subbies wet weather advisory

Other Div 6
GRR take a low scoring game 8-0 over Sea Lice
Burraneer trade blows with Merrylands but come up short 31-32
Penrith currently leading undefeated Savers 17-12. Go Emus!

Huge ramifications for finals if that’s the case. I’d say it’s more likely that Oatley forfeited to Harbour not the other way round.
With the rise of Penrith the Georges River Harbour No Game seems stranger and stranger

Kentwell with a round to go - and a game between Waverley and Lindfield to play - looks like this:

65 Hunters Hill
47 Mosman
43 Blue Mountains
39* Waverley
34 Colleagues
23 Drummoyne
15* Lindfield
14 Newport

Hillies with the Minor Premiership sewn up a couple of weeks ago, and you'd say Waves will overcome the Old Soldiers to jump into third ahead of Mountains at this stage. Next round:

Colleagues host Newport
Hillies host Drummoyne
Blueys host Lindfield
Waves have Mosman inbound

Weather is going to play a massive part of course in the catch up game for a full count. Plastic fields will be extremely desirable in the coming week.
