I recently told my adult children that if they are ever having a wedding then don't expect me to be there. Don't even ask. I cannot stand the things and life is too short to voluntarily spoil a precious day.
I am pretty sure that our forum buddy Seagull Butler also butchered a try when he had white line fever with his winger unmarked, but everybody seemed to have a bit of a laugh about it after.

So you're saying you wouldn't even rock up just to get on the cans? Society really is decaying. If anyone needs me, I'll be at Waverley Oval admiring the picket fence.
Those cans may appear to be free but actually they come at a terrible price. I would be forced to socialise with relatives,in laws, friends and acquaintances. That's exactly the same type of people I've been avoiding for a decade. Quite happy to pay $4 a can at the rugby and hang with other like minded folk. $4 is free compared to the alternative.
Anyone got any opinions on how 1st grade teams would compete against each other across divisions? 1st div v 3rd div type scenario?

Last years Blacktown 1sts at full strength would have been a treat to watch play against some higher divisions.
I don't think they would have fared so well against disciplined opposition.
I cant see Harlequins making it into 1st Grade finals. I work with a guy from Quins and he was saying that word is Irish are back to full strength with 5 or 6 1st Grade players back that have either been away or out with injury the past couple of games. That and the game is in Latham which helps Irish, either way itll be a cracker of a game on the 4G astroturf pitch they have in CoogeeIndeed - when reviewing that First Grade side's results, under pressure they conceded a lot of yellow cards. They just had enough individual talent to get out of it e.g. their Fijian fullback who could just run around/through everyone.
Having said that, Blacktown are still in contention for finals in all Grades this year, so they're still doing a lot right.
Looking at the remaining rounds, the finalists for Div 4 are pretty much decided IMHO, based on form. The only bone of contention is going to be the game between Irish and Harlequins in First Grade - that could determine who makes it, and who doesn't.
FIRSTS: Oatley, Blacktown, Canterbury, Harlequins
SECONDS: Irish, Canterbury, Blacktown, Oatley
THIRDS: Oatley, Canterbury, Blacktown, Irish (that is a lock-in as Mac Uni are in 5th but 12 points back).
For anyone looking at the tables, its worth noting that we play Canterbury and then Blacktown so that is basically 10 points for each of their Grades to guarantee them all a spot.
