Actually I assume there absolutely must have been video clearly proving he didn't do it.Assume there was no video of the game done???

Just heard HH invoking some obscure rule postponing first grade because of the guys they have in the Subbies Rep side.
Fine if it's in the rules but seriously, stuffing opposing Subbies clubs around because one club chose to nominate their players for rep duty.
Maybe clubs could request a postponement because they have a huge injury toll. At least they've not chosen to lose the players for a weekend. Perhaps the entire Colts rounds can be postponed whenever there's a music festival on.
Pretty poor form. But I guess just like the rest of Australian rugby, the administrators have no idea who their members are or what they are doing there. So much for "The Game for the Game Itself"

SubbiesVeteran - I don't know how good a witness I would be as I am usually about 30 metres behind play.
The tackle before was bad from where I was with our player landing on his head - still doesn't justify kicking no matter how bad. Our player was charged with kicking from the touch judge report, and the referee initially gave the red card to our fullback, who was nowhere near the play.
Last night, our bloke pleaded not guilty, and the judiciary gave the sanction as not proven. This is a player that we would never have believed would do it, he's said he didn't do it and he's pretty much the nicest bloke in the team.
Hopefully he and the other 3 of our boys have a cracker for subbies this weekend.
As I mentioned above there *must* be video evidence clearly showing he didn't. Otherwise the judiciary is being inconsistent. So the guy got off? For kicking someone in the head?

Exactly that's my point. The judiciary has been very clear that without video evidence then the ref's report is final, regardless of statutory declarations, witnesses, clean records, or "nice guys".
So if they have now changed their position, then it would appear to an independent observer that they're either being inconsistent or showing favouritism.
That's not fair on all the other blokes who have been found guilty and suspended for incidents that are much less serious than kicking somebody in the head. I'm sure most of them deserved the punishment, but I'll bet that at least *some* of them were nice guys whose version of events conflicted with the ref's report.
Why is why I can only assume there must be video evidence here. It would be great if this could be confirmed.
Take the rule out of Subbies operations manual if you want and see how many players actually turn up for the squad knowing they'll miss club games.
The NSW Subbies team is the pinnacle of Suburban Rugby and is fully funded by Suburban Rugby so yes, it gets priority over regular fixtures.
I hear the guy had his head opened up, so you can't say he missed
I'm also aware that this round is to used to raise funds and awareness for charity.
Why not both, as someone who has missed out on this (got close last year but left out of the squad after trying on kit for size & not playing anywhere near good enough footy this year), I would love to make the team. That said, it's not something that I think really leads any higher (i.e Waratah's) is it?Is it an avenue for players to have fun playing a great game with mates or is it a pathway to higher honours

I'm hearing that the game was videoed by Hunters Hill, but its being claimed in a tragic turn of events that the lens cap was left on. Damn shame that! Not necessarily.
If the touchy's report and the ref's report do not match up and there are no visible injuries on the victim then the case can thrown out as inconclusive. It has happened with our club before.
