Or the Sydney Coves?

Time for those in the know to spill the beans. There is a lot to be done in a short space of time, but with only two partners in the JV, there will be a bit more certainty at the Coves/Stars than most of the other franchisees, and probably more existing momentum.

Details please:
Coach/s:
Colours: Uni are blue, gold and black. Balmain are black and gold. I'd expect black and gold to feature.
Playing strip:
Logo:
Playing Roster:
Membership Packages:
Food and Beverage options at the BBQ: - A good Chardy should be on offer.

My error. No black anywhere in Uni colours?

Well then, colours of the Sydney Coves to be Gold and dark blue or Navy Blue.

My guess, Huge, is that they'll go with gold, blue and black. And notwithstanding its authorship I'm increasingly attracted to Sydney Cove as a team name with the players referred to as the Coves.

@Bruce, Still haven't dug up the Steele Rudd books from the basement, but as the G&GR Undersecretary for Things Twee, I'm all for referfences to old Australia even if Coves may be a reference to a ratbag. At least the Coves will be an Australian ratbag, not some Americanism reference like the Sydney Dudes.

I'm coming across to the Cove/Coves. How well do you know the people behind the JV?

I don't know anyone connected with Balmain, Huge, but I have been associated with Uni sport and the Rugby Club since the late 'Eighties so I know almost everyone.

I think the JV will work well. Uni has been positioning itself to participate at this level for over a decade and Warren Livingstone seems to have a real flair for promotion and publicity. Livingston and David Mortimer are perhaps something of an odd couple but I think their strengths will complement one another in the one-round NRC. But I doubt that the combination would work as well if they were united in a seven-team Shute Shield club.

Probably like most people I think that Sydney Stars/Cove will be really tested in the new competition, but that is a good thing.

Will this team be based out of Concord Oval or Leichhardt Oval?

Sydney Stars/Coves will be my NRC team due to the proximity of being closest to my house, looking forward to getting to rugby in late September/October.

Probably Leichhardt Oval.

I really like your logo, RF, although I'm not so keen on the vertically stretched font.

I think we can find geographical justification for the name "Coves". The three Harbour coves of the very early settlement were Sydney Cove, Farm Cove and Iron Cove which forms the Western bound of the Balmain Peninsula.

If guys like Crossy and De Barts turn out for Balmain in subbies this year are they are chance of playing for the Stars/Coves?

De Barts was great in the 2007 NRC but he would not be up to the standard anymore. I assume Crossy might be off the pace too.

REDFERN OVAL! Bruce, pass this on to the powers-that-be at the Sydney Coves HQ. Leichhardt really is a shit oval while Concord's nowhere this team's constituent parts, and it's a fair distance from public transport. Redfern's the perfect size surrounded by many decent places to have a beer and a feed.

I've never been to Leichhardt, Lindommer, so I'll have to take your word for it. I understand that Balmain RC are able to secure very favourable rental terms from the local council. As far as Redfern is concerned, in Season 2 of the NRC, Sydney Uni No. 2 will be available and of equivalent size and offering better viewing.
