I don't think that Uni are the only ones with lads from outside their "junior programme". They just seem to do it better.

The intent of the points cap is supported. Execution and exemptions allow a degree of creative manipulation.

I would be interested to know how any of the trials are going across the clubs. Although not a true benchmark of any future performance during the season, it is always good to talk the game of rugby rather than the politics :)

I heard Rats were comfortable winners over Gordon last week.
Apparently Gordon did not have sufficient numbers to complete the scheduled number of trials in both Colts & grade.

Parra has had 2 trials and had big numbers and good performances against Southern Country and Easts.

I would not have thought a 5-3 scoreline was a comfortable win. When you consider that the majority of the Gordon side hadn't played together before, I thought it was a fine first hit out.
Can't really comment on the "numbers" but there were 5 halves of Colts football played with lots of players on the field.

Really?
I heard there were 5 scheduled and only 4 played.
I was told there was an hour break before the last 2 halves.
Wonder why that happened?
Don't get precious about the score,it's a trial.
If your mob is happy with how they went, terrific!

You really do have a set against Gordon don't you??? As far as getting precious, just replying to your "comfortable win" comment, and suggesting that 5-3 wasn't as comfortable as you were making out.
If you HEARD all this stuff, then perhaps it is better that you don't make comments about what you THINK may have happened. I was there so know what I'm talking about.
And my MOB were happy with their first hitout together, thanks for asking.

Just tone it down fella.
I couldn't be fucked about getting into a flame war about a colts trial game.
If you were there, and paying attention, can you give us the scores from each of the halves that were played?
How about a few lines on the strengths and weaknesses of both sides ?

Why post? Cause I am genuinely seeking clarity.

Many have stated that both Milne and Moeroa are off to <insert car maker> cup next year.
GPSrow post seems to contradict this. Good news for our game if true.

If Cannell is the #4 that is off to Randwick, then this is good recruiting by Poido and co, as I would have thought Gordon (emotional plea) or Uni (usual reason) would have been keen to grab him. I think Cannell also played #8 for some games for NEW, in which case Gordon/Norths makes sense.

I don't know if I have Mill mixed up with Morris. I know one is from the Gong. Didn't know either had kiwi connections. Morris has NGS connections. Surprised if they let him go to NZ, but there may be long term development opportunities not available here for him.

Hello HJ - I'm Baaaack! I can clarify some of this for you as follows :

Lachie Cannell ( New #8 in 2013 ) - at Eastwood

David Morris ( New #6 in 2013 ) - Waikato Chiefs Development Squad (club rugby at Hautapu in the Waikato region near Hamilton NZ ) - and yes, he is a Kiwi!

Stuey Mill ( New #7 in 2013 ) - Sydney Uni EDS ( and yes, he's from the 'Gong )

Jack McCalman and Hamish Dunbar both at Sydney Uni. Not a bad backrow with Mill if they end up in the same team!

Cheers, Wreckless

Big question. Does @GPSRow now become ColtsRow?

Look forward to hearing the good oil from inside Camp Camperdown.

the wicks are playing norths in a trail this weekend - will be interested to see the outcome of this match up. The green machine have be training well and picked up some school boy talent, will be interested to see how norths match up. I will be there and will provide feedback.

Some of the Wicks "schoolboys" will be missing for the Norths game as they will be in Brisbane on Friday with the U20s Tah squad up against Fiji "A".

King's = Eastwood or Uni

So my old friend CTPE ( aka CBS? ) - you couldn't tear yourself away completely either eh??!!

Is your young bloke going around in Colts anywhere this year? I hope so, seemed to me that you both had a great love of the Game! :)

I'll look forward to your reports from wherever - your Kings insights were great over the last few years!

All the Best! Wreckless

Lincoln & Mitchell Whiteley ( View ) at Sydney Uni as well. Trial vs. Eastwood on Saturday.

Mitch Whiteley was notionally with Uni last year, but IIRC he suffered a fairly serious knee injury during U20 trial camp in Canberra about this time last year, after playing a trial or two with Uni Colts.

I didn't see his name mentioned too many times as playing towards the end of season 2013.

He was impressive in the ANZAC schoolboy test in 2012. I hope he has an injury free year.

Agree HJ - and as unrealistic as it is, the same wishes to all the young men who'll have a crack!
