Watched at the ground with ref comms. Couple of tough calls from the ref, did not really use TMO for decisions which was good for game flow.
Still,, whilst improved from Roma, Tahs will struggle to win games this year.

Returning from the game on the bus thoughts:
- thought Wilson was very threatening and seemed to hit hard in defence and change it up in attack.
- Tate started very poor but as often is the case he really managed the game very well as it went on.
- Petaia is a physical freak and hurts tacklers regularly from a standing start.
- Holloway looks and acts like he’s in a mad max movie but didn’t do anything in the game.
- Reds on the whole looked pretty calm and happy to be playing a relatively optimistic brand.

Couple of deft passes from Hollaway including very quick hands to set up a try in 1st half.

Great start to the season, was wet a muggy as all hell at the ground. Crowd was good and vocal in the members areas but it looked light on elsewhere, maybe 10k. I guess that's the dangers of starting the season with the big games when we're struggling to be seen.

As far as the game itself goes I thought there was some classic first round rustiness but overall a very good start. Lineout, backrow, Uru, Lynagh and HMP and paisami all excellent and I thought the scrum and Nonggorr in particular really turned things around from 2 weeks ago. Left some points out there and we drifted away from support too often but that's a good solid base to build from. Petaia didn't have his best game, but that kick returned with interest on the fly was a very special play. It felt like it broke the tahs.

Speaking of the tahs, their kicking from hand was woeful and probably what killed them, along with the lineout. They weren't to interested in playing with the ball in hand which would've made sense in the weather if they kicked well. The brief periods they played at pace they looked dangerous, they were just too few and far between. Might need to get Teddy Wilson on much sooner next week to drive it. Never really adapted to not having scrum dominance either, I imagine they had been planning on that as their platform.

A fair bit to say about that game, but one thing which stood out for was was that the Tahs kicking game was fairly dreadful, they might have stayed in that game if it wasn’t for such poor kicking. Edmed in particular but the entire team was quite poor

Yeah Flooked walked himself down the sidelines when coming off, he was stiff but talking happily with the staff and clapped the crowd, you don‘t do that if you’ve popped your calf.

Flook seemed o be walking comfortably with his parents post game outside suncorp. From the ground it look like cramps.
Yeah he walked off past us and front the stands we were all calling it as cramp (hopefully we're all on the money)

We thought it was a rolled ankle so perhaps not quite as bad as the calf..

Haha how's tim Horan. On his knees for lynagh after a terrible kick that would have been dead if it wasn't for peach trying to catch it, then says it's a 5050 when he clearly knocks it on a meter for the disallowed reds try and then says they should check a tahs forward pass for no reason. Come on Timmy hahaha

Terrible call on Jorgenson yellow card pen try. Less than .001 seconds in it. How does that ever deserve 10 min in the bin ? What a joke

What a great game to watch. Petias soccer kick was crazy. Peach with his own try assist. What a classic. Man the tahs team have surely been slept on. They won't end up so far down the table like everyone is saying. They have so much class if they can get it right. Bell was dominant at scrum time, Marky make is class. 2 super rugby class wingers, work horses like halloway, parese is no joke ever, Gordan is super rugby quality although I don't rate him, gambles and Gleeson solid. Reds at home just too good and have some class accross the park but can't persist with vunavalu cambell all day
