Is it just me or is it actually kind of easy to keep your team within budget. Its too generous - you can just pick the best players in any position.

Also - there is basically no point picking any Australian players.
It's not very restrictive at all, especially when you consider there's no limit on trades round to round. I have a feeling there are going to basically be 3-4 different teams with not much variation that 90% of people are running once we get a few weeks into the season.

It's a bit of a disappointing setup to be honest, hopefully they're planning on refining it next year and they've just kept it simple and easy this year to get people in.

no limits on trades? surely not. That's one of the few things to keep it interesting.

Only reason not to pick Kiwi players is when they're playing each other.

No, no limits and no bench. I don't think you get the benefits of picking under valued players early who will shoot up in season like you did with the old foxsports one either, I think it'll just be the static $100m cap for the whole season

Yeah why not just copy existing comps of which there are many. Oh well.
I can only assume it's because they want to make it more approachable for general fans in the first year, but that completely misses the point of fantasy and the fact that people they're actually going to draw in with this are the rugby nerds and the guys who've already been playing NRL super coach for years. You're not winning over the super casual fans with a fantasy comp.

Also why have they used millions? this isnt the EPL...
They've basically just multiplied everything by a factor of 10, so a $400k player becomes a $4m (value based on perceived scoring, not actual contract), which is easier from a UI perspective and simpler for people to think about. building a 100 point team out of single digit values.

Question.

Is there an incentive to not spend all the money? Does it play into anything score wise?
No, no reason to have money unspent beyond the players you want being cheaper.

There's no incentive to find the gem. Hopefully the values fluctuate enormously so there is value in finding players and using the boosts.
Yeah it would be cool if there was some kind of multipler on how many people selected a particular player. i.e. if you pick a person where only 0.5% of people picked vs 75% their points are boosted by X.

The cap size seems too large for the overall ratings, I found I didn't have to make too many hard calls on selections.

Yeah, it's heaps easy if you pick Australian players - not many are high points.

Joined the league gents I read they didn’t make this fantasy as similar to ‘Traditional’ fantasy with trade caps, and tight salary caps purely to spark interest for season 1 (friendly for non-rugby nuts).

I actually picked quite a few Aussie’s, mostly because I reckon the Tahs will hit the ground running - tbh I’m probably just trying to justify a point of difference to 90% of teams

I justified my choices in the little short below - would love some feedback
