Normally the Brumbies pretty good at closing out close games at home but wasn’t to be.......... good game though.

There is some bad blood between JOC (James O'Connor) and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto). Bit of push and shove in the celebrations

Despite not having Slipper and Ala'alatoa, the Brumbies were dominant all game until both Sio and Ross left the field with injuries.

Nice how the past Reds No 9 kept the Reds in the game when the Brumbies were clearly dominant.

At full strength, Brumbies would have won by three tries at least for a bonus point. Looking forward to the final already.

A lot of things could have happened mate. What did happen is that the Reds won a brilliant game of Rugby.

I'd kill for that crystal ball mate.

Written with all the balance and good grace we’ve come to expect.

Like others I thought Valetini was excellent. It’s seeming like a breakthrough year for him - would love to see him convert this form for the national team.

And as much as it pains me to say it, O'Connor showed tonight the importance of taking your kicks for goal when available - something Hooper/Cheika never learned...

This has happened with Australian rugby for as long as I can remember, we have never valued easy points.

I don't think we take shots at field goals when we have advantage as much as we should, don't get me wrong, I love tries but from a money ball perspective taking a filed goal attempt knowing you will get a penalty if you miss if not utilised enough.

Hope you don’t get the chance to be the same ungracious winner as you are as a loser .

Just witnessed a good game of rugby , one that would you would be happy to show as an example of what our game has to offer.

No need to belittle it , just cop it please , humbly would be nice .

Balance? Drewprint, do you dispute the Brumbies were on top until they lost their front row? After the replacements came on, the Reds scored 24 points and still only hit the front with a minute or so on the clock. I have no doubt at all the Brumbies would have held on had they been able to field an adequate replacement front row.

The Reds are a very good side, and the game actually turned out as I predicted, though a bit closer on the scoreboard.

Samu MOTM for me. I’ve been unwilling to consider a better loose three than the Reds but they were towelled up tonight by the Brumbies. The turn was rookie and reserve props facing the Reds. Opportunity to win this game came from bench and the front row for the Reds. Story might have been different against a full blooded first 23 from the Brumbies.

But that’s not what the Brumbies brought to the party and the Reds have learned to win ugly if that’s what it takes.

Paisami best for the Reds. Ikitau out pointed Petaia but Petaia has a higher ceiling easily. Vunivalu is going to be great but is a work in progress. Jock Campbell solid at the back.

I’m not sure on Valetini though he bettered his opponent tonight. Seru Uru surely deserves a start at 6.

Sorry Brumbies, awesome game but the Reds deserved this one. JOC (James O'Connor) leadership a major reason why.

I know you’re trying to play it down the middle but to say with absolute confidence that the Brums would have won with a different front row is utterly arrogant and outrageous.

Fact is they lost, so many variables come into play. If Liam Wright our Wallaby back rower had played I have no doubt he would have been better than Valetini and Samu and the Reds would have won by 20. See what I mean?

JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 for me - To’omua 12 but hunter to my mind not far behind — and he is ahead of Simone. Len ikatau at 13 for me ahead of petatai. Latter probably wing but the reds Fijian former storm winger may push him to the bench (petatia still not quite there for me to be starting wallaby)

Petaia will be in the headlines for that winning try, very good work from him.

But overall again too many turnovers in attack for my liking. Maybe that try will give him confidence to play a more solid game but he seems to be overplaying himself a bit. And yes for any regular forum guys I have been critical of him for a while now but still not convinced he’s playing great footy.

If only we had a full strength Reds team.

Not just won, but won by at least three tries too apparently. He can have his hypothetical crushing victory - I’ll take the real one.

Great game overall. Along with Valetini, I thought Samu was excellent. Nice turn of speed that Wilson lacks. Also thought Jock Campbell was great and clearly outpointed Banks.

Campbell has been underrated, imo.

Petaia has been living off interest, so to speak, for a while - although I had to eat some of those words following the match winner.

The beers caught up with me at half time, how did the rest of it go?

I've just read the last page of this thread, and it seems that the match result is up to interpretation..........

Having said that, if I blacked out at the 78th minute mark.......... did the Brumbies really lose?
