What a great match up this game threatens to be. A good team with overall better players (Reds) versus a better team with overall good players (Brumbies).
But of course, its not that simple. The Reds have shown exceptional team work in much of their work through the season and the Brumbies players clearly match up against most oppositions in our tournament.
A lot will depend, I think, on how the Reds recover from the brutal game last weekend and how they handle the travel. Saturday promises to be almost ideal for rugby, temperature in low 20s with some cloud cover and possible showers.
I expect the tight 5 battle to be a beauty. Tupou clearly the key to the Reds gaining dominance. Shut him down and I believe the scrum contest could be even, while the Brumbies probably have a slight edge at lineout time so long as they keep their throws away from Wright jumping at two.
White v McDermott will be intriguing, two quite different styles of players. JOC (James O'Connor) will have the edge at No 10, but be interesting to see if Lolesio gets a run at some stage. Simone is the most creative player in the backlines, but the Reds probably have the edge again out wide. Depends a lot on whether Petaia comes through uninjured and in which spot he plays. Wasted on the wing imo.
Looking for the Brumbies to take it out, but either way, will be a fitting finale to an excellent local tournament.
