I figure, if we’re going to do this again let’s do it from round one...........

Also, I think just a XV should suffice, and non Wallaby players eligible to keep it simple.......... but happy to be convinced otherwise.

I’ll kick things off...........

Round One:

1. Slipper (Brumbies)
2. Mafi (Reds)
3. Ala'alatoa (Brumbies)
4. Neville (Brumbies)
5. Uru (Reds)
6. Valetini (Brumbies)
7. McReight (Reds)
8. Samu (Brumbies)
9. White (Brumbies)
10. O’Connor (Reds)
11. Daugunu (Reds)
12. Simone (Brumbies)
13. Ikitau (Brumbies)
14. Petaia (Reds)
15. Kearney (Force)

I reckon that nails it. Strongly consider ASY (Angus Scott-Young) for #6, but happy for Valetini.

McDermott at 9 and i'd have picked Maddocks at 15, thought he played well in a team that was on the back foot most of the game.

1. Slipper
2. Mafi
3. Ala'alatoa
4. Uru
5. Neville
6. Valetini

9. White

12. Simone
13. Ikitau
14. Muirhead
15. Banks

Dave Rennie has also mentioned that he and his co-selectors will be picking a notional Wallabies side after each round, so I'd like to see the selections limited to Wallaby-eligible players. I'd also like to see all players by position who were very good to outstanding in their games.

For Round 1, I'd nominate as additional to the TOTW :

LHP - Zander.
Hooker - Fainga'a.
THP - Nasser, Greg Holmes.
No 4/5 - Blyth, Swinton, Lee-Warner.
No 6 - ASY (Angus Scott-Young).
No 7 - Tezzano, Brown.
No 8 - Wilson.
No 9 - McDermott, Gordon.
No 10 - Lolesio.
No 11 - Blank.
No 12 - Stewart.
No 13 - Paisami
No 14 - Ralston.
No 15 - Maddocks.

I'll sit out this week's votes as I haven't seen the games properly yet. FWIW, no problems with non-eligible players being included in the TOTW, but if there is a cumulative team like we did last year maybe exclude them from that, as the purpose is to come up with a form Wallabies side?

Swinton was suspended!!
Gee BR, anyone who played must feel pissed that you picked two players who didn't even play ahead of them (come to think of it, that might be justified with some of the Tahs on Friday night).

Brain fart Froggy. Certainly didn't mean to put Harris in there.

Still, maybe I'm just a week out?

Dru, I just can't see Ikitau getting the 12 spot ahead of Simone. Both were in very strong form against the Force, but Simone played 12 while Lenny was 13. I know some say there's not much difference, but when the actual No 12 was one of the best on ground, then it's a bit of a mystery that the No 13 should displace him in the TOTW.

From last week

1 Slipper (Brums)
2 Mafi (Reds)
3 AAT (Brums)
4 FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) (Force)
5 Neville (Brums)
6 Valetini (Brums)
7 Tizzano (Tahs)
8 Wilson (Reds)
9 White (Brums)
10 JOC (James O'Connor) (Reds)
11 Daugunu (Reds)
12 Simone (Brums)
13 Ikitau (Brums)
14 Petaia (Reds)
15 Maddocks (Tahs)

FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) is this years Philip. There is a few similarities in their game as well

Thanks. I will adjust.

PS I don't at all think that 12 and 13 are the same. Asa distinct as 1 and 3, or 4 and 5.

I’ll just go + 1 on Slims team, if that’s okay. It’s close enough to what I would have picked.

Agree with this. Bloke has started on fire.

He was very strong again against the Brumbies, as he has been for around 4 or 5 years imo, but the second row was quite competitive last week with Neville and Uru. Long term I expect FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) to continue his form and to make his Wallabies debut later this year.

EDIT : All three of those favoured locks played No 5 on the weekend. Unlike props and centres, it seems most of us are prepared to pick locks (and wingers incidentally) on either side of the park without reference to where they actually played. Is there a problem with this approach? I would expect which side of the scrum a lock plays has a bearing on the performance of that set piece, while wingers usually play the side that favours their running/stepping style, kicking boot or passing ability.
